[ day 253 ] action :: open
[ Option One ]

First thing in the morning, Jean-Luc stops by the Defense Force headquarters to check in. He makes a habit of this every other day or so, just to see if he's needed in any manner but his usual patrol duties. So he can be found here with a fresh cup of steaming tea. He probably won't remain for long though, so catch him while you can if you need him.

[ Option Two ]

As often as he frequents the library, he should probably set up residence there. A home away from home, sort of thing. But nevertheless, he is at the library again. He's perusing the bookshelves, for the rare novelty of a book from another world that Earth. He frequently finds them in this place, as the prison does pull people in from everywhere. And this is his own personal way to continue his exploration of the Universe. Books, after all, are one of the most obvious founts of knowledge. And we know what people say of idle minds...

[ Closed to Helen Magnus ]

Jean-Luc has packed a dinner for both himself and Helen. He had sent her a message to meet at the stables later in the afternoon. He's in the stables, saddling up two horses, one for himself and one for Helen. A bag settles on the ground at his feet. He's in full riding attire. But yes, he has accepted that this meeting of theirs is an actual date. And he's okay with that.

"As did I," Helen responds softly as she shifts her weight to sit up properly. It's been a very long time since she saw her mother and there are days that pass where she misses her more than others, days where she wishes she had taken the time to learn the things she "should have" known.

Endeavoring not to close herself off and block Jean-Luc out of her thoughts and feelings as she normally would have, Helen turns a small smile towards her companion. "Well, then, when I meet you in the future, perhaps we can learn it together." When, not if. She knows she's making a lot of assumptions with that, but at this point, she doesn't care. She'll do a lot to reach him again, even believing in the very small hope that they're from the same universe. "Until then and until I can take you to Italy myself, we have this."

For a moment, she simply gazes at him, taking in how he looks, how he's looking at her, and then she turns to focus on her tea and food. They have this outing, their relationship, and their love for each other, to name a few things. She's convinced that she's gone soft, though she knows a great many people who would be happy to see her like this, to know that she's let someone in through her emotional walls and into the core of her own being. She doesn't regret it, doubts she ever could, and hopes he won't, either.

Her words promise of a future, of her finding him in his own time as he is simply human and would not live forever. But the thought of her finding him in that time warms his heart. That warmth spread throughout him and very near overwhelmed him until he leaned over to gently press a kiss to the corner of her lips, then her cheek, then one palm lifted to cup the side of her face, and his lips found hers. It was very forward of him. But sometimes there were just no words that would suffice, only action.

Helen knows full well that she's being more than a little wishful with that line of thought, but at this point it's all she has to hold onto. She's willing to wait that length of time for him, because she can't even entertain any other option. If they're ever given the opportunity to escape within this world, she will absolutely remain with him. However, if they're given a choice of going back to their separate worlds, staying here together, or going together to one world or the other, her only choice is to separate. She has things to do in her world and none of it can be trusted to anyone else. She would never be able to skip to his time and she could never ask him to remain in her time. He belongs in the future, she to the past.

Only here can their times collide and collide they do. Her eyes slide shut at the gentle kisses, her head turning towards him as he presses a hand to the side of her face. She leans into the embrace, one of her hands lifting to rest against the top of his shoulder. Her lips part as she opens up fully to him, sinking into the kiss and deepening it. Once, several days ago, she'd been bold enough to kiss him like this; now it's his turn to be forward enough to kiss her. And dear god is she enjoying it. Her free hand moves to rest on his thigh, close to his knee, as she curls her legs up under her, and she uses it as leverage to keep her balance. Now she just hopes he won't mind that touch, that it isn't going to be too much, too forward, for their budding relationship. She isn't yet willing to lose him.
