Day 252 [video | open][action | baseball mingle]
[The video starts with Yuuri playing on a recorder. He's no Mozart (who is widely known for his recorder-playing skills) but he's not painful to listen to at least. After just a moment, he stops and smiles out at the people. (That's you.)]

Hi! I just wanted to get your attention and there's music stuff everywhere, so that was easy. Anyway, I thought instead of just having practice today we could have a game. I know we've lost some players and it's short notice, but I thought it might be fun. [And they could all use some fun and something to take their minds off attacks so...BASEBALL!] So, come play if you want to play even if you haven't been on a team before and come watch if you want to watch. I'll bring some snacks. You should probably bring some snacks too since I don't know what everyone likes. About two hours? See you there!

[In two hours the baseball field will be ready for a game. There's a table for snacks. Nothing too elaborate—punch, water, pretzels, cracker jacks of course. Sadly, no hot dogs unless you brought your own. People are welcome to join a team for the day or sign up to stay on one! They'll also find lots of musical instruments because it's just one of those days. Nothing like a stand full of people with cymbals?]

(OOC: We aren't really going to play out a full baseball game, but feel free to respond to Yuuri's video broadcast here or tag yourself in to a mingle which can be before, after, or during the game. RNG says The Flying Knights will win this time!)

No... no, he didn't try that again. Never. [ That doesn't mean he wasn't scared. He was. Just less for himself. ] He just... he'd get mad. Didn't hit me or nothin', but uh... he didn't want me havin' friends. He'd accuse me of cheatin' on him, but I'd never do that. Never. Wouldn't even be able to.

After those kissin' bots... he hit Yuuri. Tried to mark his territory or somethin', just cause we had to kiss. Didn't matter what I said, if he didn't like someone he couldn't stand me talkin' to 'em.

Actually, it's surprising what a little distance can free you up to realize about a situation. Her life never seemed as wrong and harsh as when she came here and it didn't have to be that way anymore.

And when it came to relationships, well... She loves Piotr. Then and now, but maybe they weren't meant to be married. He was the one who saved her. She felt safe with him and for awhile that was the most important thing. She knows how strong she is now though.]

He'd been through a lot. [She wasn't excusing him. She just understood that part of him. The part that just wants to cling to the anger because it's all you know you can count on, but he needed to grow up. For a smart guy he could be a stubborn, violent child a lot of the time.] Why stay with him if he wasn't changing?

[ He nods a little and maybe that's one reason why he stayed. Helix was younger than him and he'd been through hell and back, never had a real family, never had anyone who cared about him and would risk everything to keep him safe. Never had much of anything and Aidan always had so much to give, so many privileges to share. That's how it had started. Wanting to change the world a little bit and then the world turned it around and changed him.

It seems stupid, now. Parts of it. He's still sure he would do it exactly the same if he got a do-over. ]

Because maybe if I stayed, he would.

	Hmm, if he comes back, I think you should find a better reason or leave. [ No, Helix hasn't come back yet. Maybe he never will. Maybe they'll meet again back home or maybe they wont but whatever happens, one thing is very clear at the moment: Helix isn't here.

He contemplates asking for a cigarette, briefly, but after all that running from raptors it's probably better if he quits. Something else then. Something more important that he could ask. ]

	That's what I'm good at. I got a little medical trainin' too... nothin' too serious, just some first aid. I've, uh... I've helped field surgeons a bit too so I can handle emergency situations alright. [ Psych eval makes him a little worried but he trusts these people.
