( day 235 ) open action.
[ the adjustments of the last few days haven't exactly put elena in a social mood. she's been out and about after transitioning, after that morning, and it's been through force of will.

get up, get dressed, get through the day until it doesn't hurt anymore. she told jeremy that, after jenna died. they've - she's - lived that over and over again. believes in it because it's the only thing that will (has to) get her through.

well. that and finding a way to control and satiate this sometimes overwhelming thirst.

run into her grocery shopping in the afternoon, browsing at the library, running and working out some at the athletic complex, or virtually anywhere else. ]

[ funny about his opinions, because elena's already drinking some human blood from the bag, as well as animal. guilt or no, she's not stupid, and she's been swallowing down her reservations (no pun intended) the past few days in order to try to gain more control. (and maybe because despite all her rationalizations, she wants more. she wants to taste human blood.

she just doesn't - and worse, does - want to bite into the necks of her friends to get it.)

speaking of being a vampire, damon can't necessarily sneak up on her anymore (or more accurately, only if he tries now) and it's with characteristic exasperation that she stops short just soon enough to avoid colliding with his chest.

she sighs, looks up to the sky - and then down to his gaze. (it's been a few days. she doesn't want to talk about it, although she's unwillingly thought about it plenty.) ] Something like that. [ she made it busy.

(she's wanted to see him the last few days. wanted and couldn't, so she expelled the desire from her mind. of course he wouldn't stay away. she tries to disregard the emotion rising in her throat: the anger, frustration, longing, annoyance -) ]

[ If his heart is having an achy breaky moment at seeing her, he doesn't show it. Despite the fact that he has no idea what he'd done to have gotten two vampires sire bonded to him, he feels somewhat at fault here. Elena's the last person he ever wants under his control. But just because she's sire bonded to him doesn't mean he can't still talk to her. He just has to do that thing where he has to think twice before accidentally saying something idiotic that could possibly lead to her doing sire bond rubbish. It's high time he learns how to filter what he says and how he says things anyways.

Words can cut like a knife, feelings can get hurt and he's always been a dick, blah blah blah. Wouldn't the wardens consider this as something of an improvement on his part? (Yay, rehab points?) ]

You do know that working out is completely optional? Perks of being a vampire...

[ wow, it doesn't surprise her he'd be following her around; quite the contrary really. she ignores the catch in her throat at the confirmation he's been around; doesn't want to evaluate the mix of feelings or her reaction. ] Yeah well, some of us know that skills and endurance have something to do with protecting themselves, vampire or no. [ she sidesteps him neatly to continue on her way. ]
