( day 235 ) open action.
[ the adjustments of the last few days haven't exactly put elena in a social mood. she's been out and about after transitioning, after that morning, and it's been through force of will.

get up, get dressed, get through the day until it doesn't hurt anymore. she told jeremy that, after jenna died. they've - she's - lived that over and over again. believes in it because it's the only thing that will (has to) get her through.

well. that and finding a way to control and satiate this sometimes overwhelming thirst.

run into her grocery shopping in the afternoon, browsing at the library, running and working out some at the athletic complex, or virtually anywhere else. ]

[ elena wouldn't say she was avoiding this moment - or that she didn't want it to happen, didn't want to see sookie, talk to her...

the past few days, part of all she's wanted is to see and talk to sookie. (and the desire has been twisted by the fact it can never be the way she's wanted. not anymore.)

her lips part and form a slight 'o' at the sight of her and her smile. she shakes herself out of it. her smile is small but genuine; her tone is warm. ] Hey, I'm- [ a question was asked, right ] I was picking up a few things. [ there's a pause. for the kitchen at home. there's a wide variety of essentials in her cart. elena looks down into sookie's.] You?

[ sookie's perceptive enough to pick up on there something being off about her friend, but she can't tell what. not yet. and she's not yet concerned enough to go diving into the other girl's head to find out exactly what that is. either elena will tell her or she'll go looking herself. that's the way things are with them. sookie knows she can look, knows that elena is okay with her looking, but she would rather give elena the opportunity to tell her herself. ]

Same. Eric ruined my last good pillow. [ she points to the one in the basket that will be replacing the one he bled on the other day. the bleeds were more troublesome than she realized. ]
