[Action]
[Lacus is no stranger to cabin fever, given that space travel can be rather claustrophobic. Being forced to bed by injuries, however, could not be more different. She still has limited energy, and so she permits herself only a few essential errands. A blue winter scarf, Sougo's Christmas gift, is loosely around her neck to cover the healing wounds where Spike bit her several days ago.]

[Errands done and Lacus carrying her bag of groceries and other assorted things, she finds herself wandering. When she's not at peace internally she finds herself seeking places that she finds calming: the koi pond, the beach, the butterfly pavilion, random pathways in between which she walks in no particular hurry. She wouldn't mind company...]

[As if sensing so, her pink haro bounds ahead, finding the nearest person and addressing them excitedly as he bounces in place.]

Hello, hello! Friend!

((OOC: Find her at any of the places mentioned or walking with her haro through the sectors! Anyone who can notice by supernatural means that she's been bitten by a vampire is free to do so.))

[She's a little tired having spent a few hours out and still lacking her usual energy, but a promise is a promise. Sougo has been wonderful to her and the least she can do is make him smile. Even if the things he asked her to get confuse her.]

[Her outing was timed well, and she's back and changed before he gets home from patrolling. As soon as he enters their apartment, a smiling Lacus approaches him wearing -- well. What the Plush Rump thinks is a kitty outfit. It's not as though there were a lot of options for costumes when the Wardens aren't planning a holiday, and he said he wanted kitty ears!]

[She does a full turn so Sougo can get a good look at her.] Do you like it?

[The warmth of his arms around her isn't as comforting as usual, because her first thought after he speaks is no, I can't. Where she'd usually look inward to know what she should do, there's only a shadowy doubt she's never felt before. The only thing that makes any sense right now is that she doesn't want to hurt him any more.]

Why would I want to do anything but stay with you? [That much, at least, is honest. Even if it raises more questions than she can answer now.]

[She shakes her head, jingling the leash.] It's out there that I feel trapped, and scared, and helpless. This is the second time someone almost killed me for no reason and I couldn't do anything to prevent it. I'll keep going outside because I don't want them to beat me, and maybe that fear will lessen eventually, but...

I'd rather be here. [She slides her palm onto his cheek. Even though part of her isn't sure this is the right thing to say at all.] You make me feel safe.

[The uplifting rush from his words is quickly smothered. It would be easy to sink into this little bubble and shut out the world, since just now it doesn't feel deserving of her efforts. But that isn't who she is.]

[She can't change anything, but the least she can do is be honest even if words are failing her. While his eyes are closed she leans in and gives him a soft kiss on the mouth. Nothing too lingering, since she figures it would make him uncomfortable.] Thank you, Sougo.

If you don't want to be alone, just tell me. [With that, she gently pulls her hand away and stands up, reaching up to unbuckle the collar.] After I change clothes, that is.

[She turns and vanishes into her room, tail swaying all the way, and emerges a few moments later wearing a tank top and shorts with a strawberry pattern.] Where did you want to rest? [The sofa was fine before, and he probably still isn't comfortable sharing a bed, she imagines.]

For now. [No chance she's done doing that act, since it made him smile. For that matter, she's not going to take his quasi-relaxing as a victory. Sougo needs to rest.]

[While she massages his back, Lacus starts softly singing, a song with lyrics in a made up language so as to draw his attention to her voice and not the words.]

[The last time she sang this song was for Neil. She's a little surprised that the memory doesn't sting as it used to.]
