[Day 233] Advanced Technology Class — mingle
[Kitty wastes no time getting started with today's exercise. She's more into practical applications than lectures most of the time.]

We've had some fun with hardware games. Today, we're playing network wars.

We'll take turns setting up private calls on the network to people in this class or outside of it and then breaking into those encrypted calls. Share notes. Discuss. Get better at both sides of it, and try to say something worth hacking into while you're at it.

(OOC: Tag into the mingle by setting up a call with someone. You can prearrange who that call will be with and thread it out or handwave it and just show your side of a conversation. Then people will hack/threadjack their way in. Please give people some idea of difficulty for how hard yours should be to hack. And, of course, you can always talk before and after class, outside of the exercise!

You can assume your character has been to this class many times before or it's their first time. You can talk to Kitty here.)

[It takes her an extraordinarily long time to get this far, determined enough that, without realizing, the bouncy blond curls she had started the day off with had wilted straight by mid-class. Rather behind when it comes to technology, and formerly not quite interested in it at all, she was trying new things. New, potentially useful things.

Except... Scrunching her nose from the other side of the room, she finally replies:]
Is that some sort of euphemism?

More like old spy movie lingo. I wasn't sure where to start.

Oh, haven't heard that one before. [She liked it better as an euphemism.]

It's mysterious though, that's pretty neat.

I figured we could use something mysterious. If we're sending secret messages, I mean.

You need a little mystique, huh. [What a terrible pun.]

We should hide something and discuss where it is, and other people should try and find it, maybe?

[ That is a fantastic pun, what are you talking about. ]

Oh, that's a good idea. Let's do that.

What should we hide? It's gotta be worth finding.

Well... since nothing really has monetary value here, maybe something personal? [ What could he gamble with... ] How about we write down a secret each. It doesn't have to be something juicy, just enough to catch the interest of whoever's hacking our conversation.
