[Yesterday, Number One had been lucky enough to keep her uniform; today, much to her dismay, she's in standard-issue first-day orange. She's also still here, which apparently isn't a universal thing for those who'd ended up in the prison. As such, this is not shaping up to be her best day. Still, her expression is schooled into careful neutrality.]

I am given to understand that every individual in this facility was brought here under circumstances similar to my own: unexpectedly, and without any chance to defend him- or herself against the charges for which we are allegedly being held captive. As such, logic dictates that I am not the only one dissatisfied with the situation.

[She shifts, slightly, the only visible manifestation of her irritation.]

If possible, I would like access to any information regarding appeals to the authorities responsible for our incarceration, or other attempts-- successful or not-- to leave this 'Asylum.'

[A beat, and she adds:]

I am First Lieutenant Robbins, executive officer, U.S.S. Enterprise, registry NCC-1701. I would appreciate the opportunity to speak with any Starfleet personnel remaining in this facility.

Thank you.

[She would be a lot more comfortable were she in her own, but she's not going to apologize for being out of it, given that it is no fault of her own. Though she has not at any point relaxed, her posture is that little bit sharper, at attention, speaking to the Captain. It's reflexive.]

Sir. [She nods politely, dutifully.] In the absence of Captain Pike I am at your service, if I can be of assistance in any way.

Captain Christopher Pike. [ A well-known name, which means he is getting a glimpse into the past by meeting First Lieutenant Robbins. ] Of course.

Do you understand the basics of your current situation?

I have been informed of the general function of this facility, as well as the approximate temporal displacement between myself and the other Starfleet personnel present, sir. I have begun acquainting myself with all public information regarding the prison and our fellow abductees, as well.

You will find a handful of Starfleet personnel here with you. We currently reside together in a flat with several rooms and you are free to join us. If not, I would request that you find a flat near us so that we might easily convene should the need arise to do so.

[ Because while much of the populace does seem trustworthy, they find it best to stick to Starfleet decorum as well. ]

Most of us are on the Investigative Team in the Defense Force. It seems to be the closest to an inmate run fact finding mission as one can find in the prison. It is not required to join it, but it is also helpful in the gathering and knowing of all information about our surroundings as is possible.

As I had not yet selected living quarters, that seems perfectly suitable.

[Living with-- or at least near-- the rest of the Starfleet population is probably the closest she can come to replicating what she's accustomed to. In spite of the century or so difference.]

I've spoken with several members of this Defense Force, and I agree-- it seems a suitable use of time. I will offer my services as soon as possible.

Should you wish for your uniform, we have all found it necessary to specifically request them from the kiosk in the middle of the dome.

[ He pauses, considering her through the screen for a moment. His hardened features seem to soften around the edges. ] You were on the first starship bearing the name Enterprise.

I will do so. Thank you, sir.

[Morgan doesn't quite soften, but there's a hint of proud fondness in her eyes at that.]

I will say I am pleased to know it is not the last.

Oh yes, she's had many namesakes, each more advanced than the last. There are times though, when I enjoy replicating the first of her name in our Holodeck. I find it's always nice to remember where we began to fully appreciate how far we've come. She's always been a lovely star ship.

[ He speaks quite fondly. The Enterprise has always been his life, the one he chose in any case. ]

I find it difficult to imagine what your ship must be like, Sir.

Yes, I can imagine so. I've captained her through three generations; C, D and E. And even the advancements made through each of those incarnations were most impressive.

Sir, do you believe the claims that we will remain in captivity here for the rest of our lives?

I believe that some go to their homes and some remain here in a stasis of sorts if they are not active within the dome. It's difficult to tell who is chosen to do what. My theory is that once the Wardens deem a sentence served, an inmate is homebound. Otherwise, when they are removed from the dome, they are set in stasis.

And I might add, as you may have noticed, they've no mind for circumstance. There is right and there is wrong.

I am concerned about the effects my presence here-- specifically, my presence in the company of those from later years-- might have upon our timeline, should I be able to return to my proper place.

Understandably so. While I've no first hand knowledge of such things, it is my understanding that those who return home carry no memories from this place. They describe it as... as if no time has passed and they continued to live their lives as if the prison had never happened. Perhaps that knowledge by put some of your concerns at ease.

I cannot call that comforting, Sir, but it does allow for more practical freedom.
