[Yesterday, Number One had been lucky enough to keep her uniform; today, much to her dismay, she's in standard-issue first-day orange. She's also still here, which apparently isn't a universal thing for those who'd ended up in the prison. As such, this is not shaping up to be her best day. Still, her expression is schooled into careful neutrality.]

I am given to understand that every individual in this facility was brought here under circumstances similar to my own: unexpectedly, and without any chance to defend him- or herself against the charges for which we are allegedly being held captive. As such, logic dictates that I am not the only one dissatisfied with the situation.

[She shifts, slightly, the only visible manifestation of her irritation.]

If possible, I would like access to any information regarding appeals to the authorities responsible for our incarceration, or other attempts-- successful or not-- to leave this 'Asylum.'

[A beat, and she adds:]

I am First Lieutenant Robbins, executive officer, U.S.S. Enterprise, registry NCC-1701. I would appreciate the opportunity to speak with any Starfleet personnel remaining in this facility.

Thank you.

I was somewhat prepared for the possibility, but I'll admit I would have preferred to be one of the temporary inmates.

I appreciate the information you've already given me-- I'm afraid I was remiss, and didn't ask your name?

It never is easy to accept, but at least you've had a day to acquaint yourself with how this "prison" functions.

[ she gives a small smile. ] Dr. Helen Magnus. The fault is mine for forgetting my manners. If you ever have questions or simply would like a friendly face to talk to, you can always contact me with this or visit the clinic in Sector 3. You're welcome to visit the clinic if you need a doctor's assistance as well.

You run the medical facilities independently of the Wardens?

[She approves.]

As much as I can, yes. I thought if at least one person would be more comfortable with a human and living doctor, the least I could do was offer that. We've a variety of people coming in to help and to learn all sorts of medical knowledge. If you're ever interested in either option, you're more than welcome to stop by.

I have very little medical knowledge-- only standard emergency first-aid training-- but I would be happy to assist in any way I'm able.

I can teach you as much as I know, if you'd like. [ though she does pause. assuming this enterprise lieutenant robbins mentioned is the same one as jean-luc's, she would hazard a guess that this woman is from the same time period. and if that's true, she would imagine the status of their medical facilities is much more advanced. ]

It may be a little different from what you're used to, but it is so far the best I can offer.

[Well, that's not wholly wrong-- though certainly Morgan's time hardly compares to Picard's-- but really, first aid in the absence of reliable supplies (say, while one is marooned on the surface of an unfamiliar planet awaiting backup) changes far less than more complex procedures do.]

It's a very welcome offer, [ she says, and though she doesn't quite smile her tone warms a little.]

In the meantime... for what it's worth, I hope you have a good second day here.

[ she can't offer much more than that and if the woman decides she needs anything, helen has to trust she'll ask for it. ]
