[ Chuck was not the kind of girl who took misfortune lying down. Sure, it might be scary and disorienting, waking up in an unfamiliar place and realizing that someone must've undressed and then redressed her in her sleep but moping about it wouldn't get her anywhere. Besides, after her last conversation with the Piemaker this sudden change of scenery came as more of a blessing than a particularly rotten cherry on the top of an already sour ice-cream sundae. At least it gave her something else to think about.

And so the girl called Chuck had distracted herself with picking out suitable clothing, fixing her hair and, which may or may not still be important, picking an alias. Now dolled up in a pretty red dress, scarf and sunglasses, she prepared herself for addressing the network that had humming with activity ever since she woke up, not unlike her own beloved beehives. ]

Hello... Marina, was it? My name is Kitty Pimms. I'm new here. I can't say I know a whole lot about prison etiquette, but it only seemed appropriate to say hi and this doesn't seem like your average prison anyway so... hi! It's nice to meet you.

And, uh... Olive? Emerson? [ A pause that could only be called pregnant. ] ...Ned? If any of you are around, now would be a good time to say so.

((ooc: Chuck is officially in Marina and with no memory of her 4th wall visit! She can be found wandering sectors 0, 3 and 4 if you'd like to bump into her! ))

That's a relief. You can't really be prepared for this sort of thing, can you? I mean, there's no manual on the do's and don'ts of underwater prison and even if there is, I've sure never seen one.

Probably because there aren't any underwater prisons around. This is more than likely the first. [Her tone is light though, trying to put her at ease.]

Best advice I can give you is to take some time to adjust to your new surroundings and try not to break the rules the Wardens told you about. Oh, and the people you named might be here, I just haven't met anyone with those names.

[ She's actually pretty well at ease already. Eerily so, one might say. ]

I guess I should just keep looking, then. They have a habit of turning up eventually. [ In the nick of time, as it were. ] And yeah, I read the rules... boy, they've got some pretty strict ideas of what's a crime around here, don't they?

Stupidly strict. You don't even get to have a trial or anything first. Just taken from your world and deposited here and expected to make up for the crimes you committed.

[Bonnie noticed how settled she seemed to be but maybe she just had a good handle on the situation.]

It's messed up.

That sure is one way to put it... isn't there anything we can do? Start a petition? Sabotage their... wiring?

Uh, you could try to do that but they're always watching and any kind of move against them would not be a good idea.

I wouldn't want you to risk a bad punishment.

Sometimes we have to take risks in life to get what we want, even if it's dangerous. [ Like staying alive when you're technically dead. ]

What kind of punishments are we talking about here, anyway?

I can relate to that. [ Or, in Bonnie's case, risking your own life whilst performing a spell to save your friends. Not so fun.]

Random punishments. Like you can be placed in solitary confinement for a day or do community service like picking up trash. Getting hit with a collar that prevents you from physical contact with another person. Reciting poetry over the network.

It's hard to predict.

That doesn't sound too bad, all things considered. I definitely thought you were going to talk about extensive torture, but that's more like not getting any ice cream for dessert.

Don't give the wardens any ideas. [ About the torture, not the ice cream. Ice cream is fine by her. ] I think being here is manageable, if you keep an open mind and try not to get overwhelmed with everything that can go on.

Sorry. [ Little apologetic smile. ] I think I can do that. Believe it or not, but this isn't the weirdest thing that has ever happened to me.

Oh, I believe you. Mostly because this isn't the weirdest thing that's happened to me either. I've lost count of the amount of odd stuff I've been through.

Same here. I suppose it keeps life interesting though. I sure wouldn't want it any other way.

[ She hesitates for a moment, wondering if she should make up a lie or just be vague enough to stay on the safe side... but she never liked lying. A modicum of truth it is. ]

Interesting is a good way to describe it, yes. Is it the same for you?

Interesting is one word I would use. There are plenty of others that would be much more appropriate.

Mystic Falls. It's a small town in Virginia. Where are you from?

I grew up in a small town called Coeur d'Coeurs. It's on the West Coast — not a lot of people know where it is.

I guess you could say that. It's very... well, small town. Idyllic, I suppose.

What's Mystic Falls like? Mystical?
