He give himself a moment to gather himself. It's more than it'd be if he was still human, but he doesn't want to admit that. (And he can't admit how many times he searched for her, on the other side. Searching and expecting to find her and coming up empty. Maybe original vampires get their own personal limbo.)]

Jenna. [He grins and it's entirely real. Totally not... completely... okay, he's choking up. Trying not to. She doesn't seem dead. In the least. She looks alive and healthy and unsacrificed.

[ they'd said she had found peace, that she wasn't on the other side, that she had... moved on. not that she knows any of this. for all she knows, she just hangs out at the salvatore house while everyone else runs off to ruin klaus' sacrifice. she hasn't yet experienced anything else.

likely for the best.

she studies him for a moment, worry in her eyes. they can both see through each other and it's awful to realize there's something he's not telling her. she'd thought they were beyond that.
