[ Part of him (some tiny, itty bitty part of him) had hoped that Alaric would be appearing in prison today, so it doesn't exactly surprise him to hear his best friend's voice over the communicator. He feels relieved. See? Ric's alive and well. Everyone can now shut up about the fact that he's so very dead at home because this vampire's calling bullshit on that. ]
