[ helen appears on the feed looking composed as usual. she's not yet taking her duty shift at the clinic, so she's actually sitting at her table in her apartment. regardless, she's sitting up straight as usual. ]

As it seems we're to be inundated with new arrivals and familiar and unfamiliar faces, I'd like to remind everyone that the clinic is still operational. We're more than willing to see anyone who may need our help. Don't let anything keep you away if you'd like to stop by.

In the meantime, I'd like to pose a question I find myself curious about. I realize it seems we have little need for differing languages, but I'm curious to know which ones other people know. I'm fluent in a great many of Earth's languages, current as of the year 2011, both regularly used ones and ones that are considered "dead." No real reason for asking. Consider it the scholar in me who's truly curious.

[ she pauses for a moment, obviously on the verge of saying something else before she finally decides to continue. ]

Nikola, if you see this, answer. I'd rather not have you wandering around terrorizing everyone. [ she fully expects him to snap at her for this... if her instincts aren't correct and for once, she hopes they aren't. ]

[ Eric nods. ] I'll talk to her about it. She is very young and very sheltered. I believe she's been made to believe that people will never accept her if they find out what she is and she's terrified of hurting others.

Unfortunately, I'm afraid the number of humans I know is rather limited or I'd talk to them about donating as well. However, the blood drive is a good idea. We could give out free...tee shirts [can you hear the disgust? He's well aware though that humans like free things that advertise their 'good' deeds.] or something.

Of course. It's hard life in any respect, and I can only imagine what it must be for someone who's been raised in a world where vampires are real and a supposed threat. [ not that she believes that someone should be judged on what species they are. ]

I might be able to tie it into my work with the clinic, say it's part of an effort to help people feel more comfortable with receiving treatment here. Someone might prefer a blood transfusion by a human rather than a magical robot healing. [ the way she says it clearly shows how very little respect she has for the hospital. she really doesn't want to trust it any more than she has to and if she can do something to make anyone else feel more comfortable here, then by all means she will. ]

At any rate, it's something to start with. Let me know what she says and how she feels about this and we can go from there.

[ Eric nods. ] And I'm sure you'd be right. In fact, if I were to be injured and Sookie weren't available, I would need human blood to heal, so it might not only be a preference but a necessity. Not that you should use me as your poster boy for donating blood.

[ Eric has no respect whatsoever for the hospital, but that's because his blood can heal anything short of death. ]

I will and I thank you for your time. I think she'll be relieved to hear how well this meeting went. She was quite apprehensive when I mentioned it.

Of course. I could certainly use a similar story to boost support, but it'll have to be managed carefully.

[ she's starting to think about what options they might have and he better believe she's tucking away the mention of the telepath she met. there's much more to sookie than meets the eye. ]

I can hardly blame her. It's difficult to admit to something like this, but it's hardly the most difficult obstacle I've ever faced. She'll be all right. Rest assured, she will be in good hands.

[ Eric got to his feet. ]

Thank you. I'll let her contact you at her leisure, but I don't imagine it will be terribly long. She's hungry.

[ she nods and stands as well. ]

Of course. Whenever she's ready. And thank you for your help and understanding in this.
