[ helen appears on the feed looking composed as usual. she's not yet taking her duty shift at the clinic, so she's actually sitting at her table in her apartment. regardless, she's sitting up straight as usual. ]

As it seems we're to be inundated with new arrivals and familiar and unfamiliar faces, I'd like to remind everyone that the clinic is still operational. We're more than willing to see anyone who may need our help. Don't let anything keep you away if you'd like to stop by.

In the meantime, I'd like to pose a question I find myself curious about. I realize it seems we have little need for differing languages, but I'm curious to know which ones other people know. I'm fluent in a great many of Earth's languages, current as of the year 2011, both regularly used ones and ones that are considered "dead." No real reason for asking. Consider it the scholar in me who's truly curious.

[ she pauses for a moment, obviously on the verge of saying something else before she finally decides to continue. ]

Nikola, if you see this, answer. I'd rather not have you wandering around terrorizing everyone. [ she fully expects him to snap at her for this... if her instincts aren't correct and for once, she hopes they aren't. ]

[ Jean-Luc is suddenly on your screen. He's uncertain about actually getting in to see her today. He would like to try but with the new additions to the dome, he's uncertain of whether either of them will find the time.

He does, however, offer her a kind smile, unable not to respond when he sees and hears her on screen. ]

[ considering she'll need to keep a handle on everything that's going on in the clinic today just in case someone gets a bright idea today and disrupts the norm. but that will happen after she's had her morning tea. regardless of her plans, she would certainly like to see him sometime, if possible, and despite her personal worries -- the ones screaming at her that she's becoming far too fond of this man for her own good -- her features brighten and relax at the sight of him. ]

Something like that. I know I've had more time than most to learn as many as I have, and considering how many Earth has, I wondered if other places would have as many or any others at all.

[ That fondness is most certainly reciprocated and most certainly perplexing, to say the least. In his Starfleet days he had been quite the ladies man. But once he had taken the steps to further his career above all else, he had set aside those parts of him, those emotions that could build and lead to a substantial, multi-dimensional relationship.

Nevertheless, he isn't passing up an opportunity to speak with her when so neatly laid out for him to do so. ]

While in my time English is the primary language of Starfleet, I can also speak both French, Russian and Spanish. And as for other languages, I speak Klingonese fluently, and can get by with Vulcan, Bajoran, Tholian, Ferengi and Andorian.
