Day 226 l Christmas Party Mingle
[Ianto has, predictably, gone a bit overboard for the Christmas party he and Jack are throwing. The entire apartment has been decorated; there's a tree with gold and silver ornaments and twinkling lights, garlands draped over doorways, candles in every window and festive nicknacks scattered about. It looks like something out of a magazine, and may make visitors a little afraid to actually touch anything. There's also a lot of mistletoe around (one of the side effects of living with Captain Jack Harkness) so it's probably a good idea to keep one eye on the ceiling at all times.

Of course he's made plenty of coffee and some appetizers, so he hopes people really do respond to the invitation Jack sent out, otherwise there are going to be a hell of a lot of leftovers.]

Honestly Ianto is not sure what to say to all that so he just sort of nods and awkwardly tries to drop the subject. "As long as its more about control I'm fine. I think I'd enjoy that sort of thing." He doesn't want to think about Jack going to someone else to get hurt.

He gives some real though to the question about bondage, taking a slow sip of his tea as he mulls it over. "I think that would be alright." Again, he's seen Jack tied up or in hostage situations more than he likes to think about, but it's a bit different, nothing like seeing him die, and this is a case where he's quite sure he can separate the two. "Sounds like the sort of thing that could get rather interesting."

Jack’s not going to push the issue of going to someone else either, at least not until it actually becomes an issue. It’s something that will have to be dealt with eventually, he suspects, if this goes on long enough, but he also knows that he needs to give Ianto time to get used to the idea. He knows from experience how things that once seemed shocking can become perfectly acceptable given sufficient exposure to them.

Besides, he’d rather talk about what they can do together. “I get that even bondage might feel too much like real life, for us,” he says gently. “But the point is, you’re in control. You’re the one who’s doing it. You can decide how far it goes, and when to stop. And that does make it feel very different, I promise.”

He sips at his tea, and grins a little. “I, personally, love predicament bondage. Being given the choice between two awkward or painful situations, and really having to work to keep going as long as I can. I like to stretch myself that way – metaphorically stretch, I mean! It’s like proving something to myself, and to you.”

He glances up at Ianto to gauge his reaction. He knows Ianto’s not keen on watching him suffer unnecessarily, but he hopes he can tempt him in somehow.

"Bondage I can deal with. It's always rather thrilling to watch you work your way out of those situations in real life," Ianto replies with a smile to lighten the mood. After how much he enjoyed himself tonight he's willing to try just about anything Jack suggests once.

His mind is whirling with possibilities at that idea, because they're both on the same page about how arousing the idea of Jack proving how much he's willing to do for him is. He gets a bit breathless just thinking about it. "I think perhaps we should take a trip to that new store, the one where you bought that," A nod towards the abandoned plug still lying on the floor. "And see what sorts of things we both pick out."

It’s a lot less thrilling for Jack in real life (most of the time) but he doesn’t comment, not wanting to put a damper on Ianto’s enthusiasm. He has no trouble separating real life from play in this respect so how these things go in real life has no bearing on it.

“I think I’ve already got half the contents of that shop in that drawer!” he grins, and then pauses, because the idea of watching Ianto go round and discover things is more than appealing. “On the other hand, I would love to see what you make of the place, yeah! Though of course, if it’s ropes and carabiners you want, hardware stores are often more useful.”

Ianto rolls his eyes, supposing he should have known. "I suspect you were the first one in line when it opened. Not that I'm complaining."

He finishes his tea and sets the mug aside so he can wrap both arms more securely around Jack. "Would you rather come with me, or would you like it to be a surprise?"

Jack's still going on his tea, sipping slowly, enjoying the comfort of the hot liquid, but he snuggles in comfortably as Ianto wraps around him.

"I - oh!" He pauses, captivated. "Well, now that you mention it - surprise me? We can go together sometime too, but - god. The idea of you just picking out something you'd like to use on me... that's really hot."

"I thought you might enjoy that," Ianto replies almost smugly, clearly pleased with the idea himself. "You know, I think this is turning out to be one of my better Christmases."

He grins. "Definitely. Real Christmas or not, this one's been fantastic!"

And he's deliberately not thinking about whether or not it might be the last one he ever spends with Ianto.

He takes another sip of his tea, longer this time because it's cooling rapidly in the chill air, and mentions slyly, "You know, you never asked me about the rest of my kisses."

It certainly has been a good one. Ianto's relationship with his family has always been a bit of a rocky one, although he supposes Jack doesn't know that since he tends to lie about it. But he was never exactly close to any of them aside from his sister and as a result holidays that are supposed to be about family and spending time together have never rated particularly high with him.

"Oh?" He's not about to let a challenge like that slip by. "Alright, tell me about the others, then."

Jack has... yeah, actually, Jack has no idea about Ianto's family. Not having had a family of his own for so long, it's not something he really thinks about.

He chuckles, and relaxes against his lover while he reviews the other people he kissed this evening. An odd situation for some, perhaps, but to Jack it's just being him.

"Well, there was this cute girl called Raven, very sweet, and surprisingly outgoing once she got - uh - going! And Rose - vampire Rose not Rose Tyler - I caught her off guard and got quite a smacker out of her! Best, though, was Fingers - uh, Penelope, Penelope Garcia, have you met her?" He thinks he remembers seeing Ianto talking to her at some point but the whole thing's becoming a bit of a blur by now.

"I met her briefly this evening," Ianto confirms. "I liked her." She'd had a good sense of humor, which he liked, and was one of the few people who hadn't made him uncomfortable when they had asked about him and Jack.

He was pleased to discover none of the long list of names bothered him as much as they might once have. It was certainly a bit odd sitting in bed listening to someone he was in a relationship with list off everyone they had kissed that evening, but it was typical Jack and after what they had just done he got the sense it was going to be a long time before he had to worry about being jealous of anyone else.

"She's a babe," Jack agrees, with the kind of warmth he uses to talk about Kitty, too. And he doesn't articulate the first stirrings of real longing for Garcia that he felt this evening. He's not even really acknowledged it to himself, yet.

"She's been going through a rough time because she lost her boyfriend recently - Derek Morgan, from the Defence Force? - so I've been hanging out with her a bit to cheer her up. She's great fun, fantastic sense of humour." He grins. "Almost as much fun to flirt with as you are."

"I'll do my best to try and get to know her better. With a recommendation like that how could I not?" Ianto replies. It had been nice meeting so many new people tonight. It's very easy to keep a isolated as he was used to at home with Jack here, and its a habit he wants to break. They don't need to keep secrets in a place as strange as this.

"Any other kisses to report? Or is that the last of them?" He asks jokingly.

Jack finishes his tea and reaches across Ianto to set the mug down on the nightstand.

"We-ll, there was this one other guy," he drawls, eyes bright. "Gorgeous young man, felt his eyes on me all through the evening, but he didn't make a move on me till right at the end... Turned out to be one hell of a kisser, though! Got me all weak-kneed and subby just from a kiss and a few well-chosen words. He's quite a guy."

"Oh yes?" Ianto asks, all false concern and artificial jealousy, but still night quite able to hide a tiny smile at the obvious compliments. "Should I be worried?"

Jack smiles, leaning up and round to palm the side of his face.

"Oh, I really don't think you need to be worried about anything," he says softly, and leans in to kiss him, warm and gentle and - yeah - loving.

Ianto smiles at the touch of Jack's hands on his face, leaning into that kiss and for once not wondering if he's reading too much into the feelings behind it. They might not be good at saying the word love but right now Ianto is quite confident it doesn't need to be said out loud for them both to hear it.

Finally breaking away he settled down more comfortably against his pillow, never letting go of Jack. "Come on, I want to hold you until we fall asleep."

He slides down with Ianto, the two of them easily moving as one, and curls up against his side, with only a small wince as his ass twinges. It's a pleasant soreness, and one he'll enjoy very much in the coming day or two.

"I'd like that too," he murmurs, stretching up for another little kiss and then curling back down again, sighing happily as he finally lets his eyes close. "Happy Christmas, Ianto."
