Day 226 l Christmas Party Mingle
[Ianto has, predictably, gone a bit overboard for the Christmas party he and Jack are throwing. The entire apartment has been decorated; there's a tree with gold and silver ornaments and twinkling lights, garlands draped over doorways, candles in every window and festive nicknacks scattered about. It looks like something out of a magazine, and may make visitors a little afraid to actually touch anything. There's also a lot of mistletoe around (one of the side effects of living with Captain Jack Harkness) so it's probably a good idea to keep one eye on the ceiling at all times.

Of course he's made plenty of coffee and some appetizers, so he hopes people really do respond to the invitation Jack sent out, otherwise there are going to be a hell of a lot of leftovers.]

I've been attending Sam's lecture series on monsters. Since we have obvious monsters in the dome, it seemed best to learn about them. And I met a guy named Oz. He used to teach meditation techniques back home. So, he and I have been working together a bit. I find the meditation helpful when I get... upset over Tom.

[Which still happens. Ianto was good for her when he came over. It doesn't mean she's not still hurt and upset.]

And I'll admit, I've been giving you and Jack a bit of a honeymoon period. Added the the fact that I figured he'd still be upset with me.

[Oops, a little too much word vomit Martha. It's a symptom of her discomfort at being in a party that reminds her so much of gone past days.

I've met both of them, admittedly a bit briefly. I think you have me beat on getting out and making new friends in this place. And I'm glad they've been able to help you.

[He looks a bit surprised at that comment, then laughs.] I don't think Jack can stay angry at anyone he cares about for long. He's forgiven me for much worse more quickly, believe me. I think he'd be shocked at the idea of being upset with you at all, honestly.
