[ Today is a Great Day. Double-capital letters, underlined with sparkles and everything. You could even call it the Greatest of days and it shows in Aidan's face as he flicks on the video function. ]

I got some great news, guys! I talked to th' wardens earlier today, an' it turns out they'll sponsor us with equipment and plants for th' memorial garden! I went ahead and claimed a spot in sector 4, so we should be able to get started any day now!

So, uh... yeah! That's comin' along! Lemme know if you've had any more ideas since th' last meetin'.

[ Aidan can be found down in the sector 4 gardening plots all afternoon, working up a sweat through weeding both his own recently claimed plot and the one for the memorial garden. Extremely amazingly good mood! Gardening does the soul good! ]

[ She has so little to worry about in regards to etiquette — be nice and we're good. ]

Sure! We could always use some extra help an' even if we don't, this garden is supposed to be for everyone. [ Warm smile! ] So, uh... welcome aboard I guess!

[ oh. that was... really surprisingly easy. ]

Thank you. [ she feels a little awkward, but it's almost a reflex to say it. and a happy little flail to figure out what else to say. ] What all do you have planted?

Nothin' yet, we only just now got th' plot to plant in. It's kind of a... a community project? So anyone's welcome to plant whatever they want 's long as there's space for it.

There's always space for something if you're using it right.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinkin'. And if we run out of space, there's plenty of adjoinin' plots so with a little luck the wardens might let us grab another one.

Don't see much sense in them not letting us have some more room, once we use up what you've got set up already. If we're planting whole crops, we won't have much time to get into all that trouble they put us in here for.

Right? That was kinda what I told 'em when I asked for plants an' stuff for us — seems like a good, rehabilitory thing to do, don't you think?

Oh, sure. Better than busting up rocks with a pick axe.

Much better. Tastier too, if we grow some veggies.

Shouldn't be too hard to get a good selection, either. If they don't have the seeds for something, we can just get some from the produce aisle and work from there. Did it with celery once and turned out pretty well right next to the squash.

Oh yeah, I didn't even think 'bout that! Huh. I guess we could get all sorts of fruit and veggies that way, without havin' to pay for 'em out of our own pockets.

Before you know it, we'll be feeding folks nearly-whole dinners right out of the plots. That's gotta earn us some good behavior points, right?

It better! Rehab points, tasty veggies, good lookin' flowers... this is a win-win-win situation, if you ask me.

Wait... We get actual points? If we get enough do you figure we can go home?

Oh yeah, we do. For stuff like... workin' or going to school. Anything that makes us good people I guess... I don't know 'bout going home, but you can trade 'em in for stuff you can't find here.

I bought some plants earlier today.

So, like special money. [ better than nothing, even without the prospect of going back to canada. ]

What kinds of plants?

Caraway and borage.

I got some strawberries, tomatoes, runner beans an' sweet peppers a while back that I've been pullin' up in th' greenhouse, so I figured I should get some companion plants an' move some of them out to the plot.

Sounds like a good selection already. How many folks do you figure are gonna be adding to it?

I don't know... we had a good turn-out on th' first meetin' and it sounds like most of 'em are still interested. Kind of a... open invitation deal, I guess so it could be a lot!
