Evening 244 | Action |
[Peter is crouched on the very edge of the building on his heels, chin in his hand. He's got his Spider-man suit on underneath his clothes and the mask shoved in his backpack, which is slung over one shoulder.

The last couple of days have given Peter a lot to think about. He's spent most of his time here wanting to go home, but when they were in the Squall prison, he just wanted to get back here. Home is supposed to be the people you care about and it is. He misses his Aunt Mae so much. He misses the smell of coffee brewing in the morning and breakfast cooking downstairs. He misses listening to the back and forth of his aunt and uncle over the dinner table. He misses school, Gwen and the skyscrapers in New York. He misses that sort of anonymity that New York City affords people, but he's come to realize that there are things about this place that he would miss if he were taken as well. The creature comforts are only a part of it, but he would be lying if he said that they weren't. The people are the larger part of it. He's made friends here, come to care and he would miss those people if he went home tomorrow. He's not sure how to deal with that.

His powers are back, and that's given him something else to ponder. Peter isn't sure who he is without his powers anymore. At one time, watching Gwen walk away, he thinks he would have given anything to be the old Peter Parker, but now, having been stripped of his powers twice, he's not so sure he really would. There was nothing wrong with the old Peter Parker. He didn't hate who he was, but he enjoys his powers. It doesn't hurt that he can do some real good with his powers. As the old Peter Parker, he was limited in what he could do by his body. Having powers, in his mind, gives Peter a chance to redeem himself for the mistakes he's made, for Uncle Ben's death, for Captain Stacy's death, for what he helped Dr. Connors do. With his powers muted, he'd felt blind, deaf and numb. He closes his eyes, listening to the sounds of the dome. He can feel the air on his skin, and smell the food from the vendors.

Feel free to notice the boy perched on the edge of the building. He's not opposed to talking to someone, in fact, if he sees people walking by he might jump down to talk to them. He just needed some time to think and he really likes heights. If he had his shooters and webbing, he'd be hanging upside down somewhere.]

Peter responds almost immediately when he gets Dawn's voice. He's still crouched up on the roof. He'll wait to see what she wants before coming down. When he answers, he's smiling and it probably comes through in his voice. He's been feeling a bit lonely as well.

"Hey. Nope. Not busy at all. Just sort of hanging around." Not quite literally, even though he kind of wishes he could. Hanging upside down is relaxing for him.

"What are you up to?"

"Just sort of hanging around. I got... tired of doing the alone thing at my place." Which probably spoke volumes. Usually when she got tired of doing the alone thing, it either led to finding someone to hang with or finding trouble. And the two were not mutually exclusive.

"Wanna hang around together?" She's out walking the dome now looking for him.

He nods a little, despite knowing she can't see him. "Yeah. I mean...yeah. I'd love to---love to hang around together. Is there anything in particular you want to do?"

Now he's going to cheat and use his spidey senses, the hearing and the sight to try and hone in on her and find her. He could ask where she is, but it'll be more fun to find her.

"We could go walk through the cemetery. That's how we measure a good time back home... weirdly enough." Which she gets probably sounds super weird despite how comfortable it is to her. "Or... we could do whatever you wanna do."

"You know, I can't say I've ever done that. Sure. I'm game for the cemetery walking. Do you have a grave in particular you visit or....just like the scenery?" He's distracted, still hunting her down. he does grab a bouquet of flowers along the way, just a simple mix with carnations, daisies, baby's breath and a couple of lilies.

'Is there beer? I mean...not that I wanted--I just thought back home sometimes...never mind. That was dumb. The beer comment. You probably don't--not that I do. Drink beer, I mean. I haven't. Ever."

Ah, there she is. He creeps up then steps in front of her flowers held out. "Forgive me? For word vomiting at you."

"It's more the atmosphere. I know that's weird, but... I guess the whole danger and creepy aspect of them has been dulled by a lifetime of following my older sister and her friends." She's heading for the cemetery now, knowing the way as she's been there lots of times since arriving here. Even when her sister is missing, the cemetery is one of the first places she looks.

"Oh! I've had beer." she'd been to a few frat parties at Berkeley. "But usually if I'm in a drinking mood, it's the fruity kind of drinks I go for. Strawberries and coconuts and limes..."

She smiles when she sees him, glancing down to the flowers and back up to him. "No forgiveness. I appreciate a good word vomit."

He hands her the flowers, tucks his hands into his pockets and falls in line beside her while they're walking then picks up the conversation they'd been having across the communicators.

"no...it's familiar. That makes sense why it's comforting." Yeah, it's a little weird, but most people would say that on top of some of the country's highest sky scrapers is a weird place to feel comfortable.

"fruity drinks. I'll make a note." He's actually pretty happy not being much of a drinker. Honestly, he's not even sure how alcohol would affect him now that his metabolism is so insane not to mention everything else that getting bit by that spider changed.

"Thank you." She might be gushing with a spurt of happiness when he hands her the flowers. Blushing too. She can't help it.

She lightly bumps his shoulder with hers. "So what were you doing out and about? You okay?"

Blushing and gushing are acceptable responses. He'd even kind of hoped for those sorts of reactions. It was never a good thing when a girl took flowers blandly.

He grins at the way she bumps his shoulder. "Yeah. I'm--I'm okay. Just...you know...doing some thinking. Home stuff, not being home...that sort of thing. What about you? Not enjoying the solitude or really craving my company?"
