It seems to me that we could all do with some cheering up after what we went through back in that other place. I was thinking we should have some sort of get together for the sake of morale — give everyone a good boost back up. Maybe something like a potluck at one of the parks, where we all pitch in and bring what we like instead of us trying to cram as many bodies as we can into Merlotte's or the Blood Shack.

[ that and they've not only already done the party on the beach thing, but it might be a little too soon to ask anyone to go that close to the water. and there just ain't enough lanes at the bowling alley to accommodate everyone. ]

Yes? No? [ she smiles hopefully, because someone's gotta be strong in the face of so much bullshit. if she stops being strong, then it means whatever higher power's behind this place has one and she refuses to lose herself to something that won't even show its face. ]

[ elena's mom was too. she was much handier; the most elena's adept at making is a sandwich and a decent cup of coffee. she and ric somehow managed making meals together while jeremy was working. ] Yeah, Damon will fight me making toast. [ why is she bringing up damon i don't know possibly to prove she can do it with a blank face/tone/whatever. protip: she very almost succeeds. ] I guess I could make decent mac 'n' cheese. [ it's simple enough. ]

[ the damon mention, and the poker face that accompanies it, is met with the lift of her brow, but she doesn't comment on it otherwise. maybe she's long overdue for sitting down with elena and talking to her about "the damon situation," but now isn't the time for that. being positive doesn't involve talking about vampire relationships not going the way you hoped they would. ]

Which I see no problem with. Who doesn't love mac 'n' cheese?

[ elena knows she brought him up for a reason; sookie's silent reaction proves as much and makes her realize a little of why. she's been careful not to talk about him - or talk or think about him, see him (at least not until she decides she wants to.) and elena's rarely had the opportunity to being so transparent with someone, even without the added mind-reading. maybe that's retrospectively why she'd bring damon up - because sookie would know anyway.

elena feigns considering sookie's rhetorical question. ]

Probably someone who doesn't know how to live.

[ the amnesia. did she ever mention that to elena? she doesn't know, but before it was just something eric talked about. upon her arrival back in this dome, though, she actually recalled it herself. up until the point bill arrested him, jason thought he was gonna turn into a werepanther, and bill letting him go. not as up-to-date as everyone else, but she's more aware of what the world was like in the wake of her return from being missing for a year. ]
