[Look who's back. Back again. Look who's back tell a friend. He looks livid but more rational, for now.]

How could I possibly have been asleep for 45 days?!

Lelouch Lamperouge. [Because he just doesn't know who from his world may be out there, just listening.] If I had known I was speaking to a Captain, I would not have been so irritable. [But he comes up just shy of an apology. Douche.]

Mr. Lamperouge, any irritability is both understandable and forgivable given the circumstances. If there is one commonality among us all, it is the arrival within the prison and the many emotions and uncertainties that accompany it.

And some of us get a second round, it appears. The wardens must be determined to keep me here.

From their point of view, you require further rehabilitation, as is the purpose of the stabilizer. It's my understanding that it holds prisoners who leave the dome in stasis when they've yet to meet the Warden's requirements toward rehabilitation.

Rehabilitation? That's amusing.

Yes, quite. Their words, not mine. But I'm certain you're already accustomed to such rhetoric as you've been here before.

Yes, of course. I wonder what sort of programmers designed this system. [Probably someone like Lloyd...] I think a conversation with them would be quite interesting.

Agreed. Although I believe eventually this system will crumble, as most totalitarian rules do.

[Funny you should mention that...] You're quite right. Preferably sooner than later.

Such rigid rule rarely leaves room for the unpredictability of any people's quest for freedom. May I ask where you're from?

Earth, Lebarre, France. I was raised on a vineyard, a fine piece of land.

I've heard wonderful things about that area. What sort of Captain are you? Army, Navy, Air Force?

United Federation of Planets. I captain the U.S.S. Enterprise, a Sovereign-Class star ship with whose primary mission is one of space exploration.

Oh, that was unexpected. [Considering how this man carries himself, it ought to be expected.] There hasn't been much interest in space for the Empire. I suppose that's next once they've run out of places on Earth to subjugate. [There is only the lightest amount of sarcasm in his voice.]

[It was such an interesting term to use and it didn't escape Jean-Luc's notice.] Humanity does have a way of adapting, no matter the roadblock. In my world it was a first encounter with an alien species that bolstered our combined interest in space exploration and subsequently the terra-forming of other planets to make them able to sustain human life. I'm certain that your world will eventually find their roadblock and surmount it.

Maybe! Any visitors would probably be attacked, so I think it's best for all concerned that they stay away and no one gives the royal family anything capable of leaving orbit.

Understood. [Lelouch's world sounded violent, something Jean-Luc would never condone. But he's also ever a student of the universe, and here in the prison universes. And that makes him curious. His question is one of a man who merely wants to learn and further understand.] I'm curious on what grounds this royal family would attack if unprovoked.

The same grounds they use to conquer upwards of 50% of the world. They have the power to do so, and they use that as divine right to do what they wish.

Which then leads me to wonder if the people are complacent under such rule or whether they wish for a more free and peaceful existence.

The Emperor rules on St. Darwin's doctrine. Survival of the fittest. [Chew on that for a spell, Captain.] If there were a force or nation entitled to freedom, they would have the strength to do so. Thus far, few that Britannia has sought have been able to be a match for the Knightmares.

Throughout history we've been shown that revolutions come in all shapes and sizes, strengths and weaknesses. I'm certain that with time, if the people want something badly enough, they will eventually get it no matter whether they can match monetary assistance and fire power. And I do hope for such a revolt for any who wish for freedom.

We shall see. [Says the revolutionary.] I'm just a student. It's all a bit beyond my capabilities, and besides, I like my head right where it is.

You might be surprised what you, a student, are capable of. Every cause begins with an idea, an opinion, and those brave enough to put comprehensive words and action to it.

May I ask what you're studying?
