Day 220 Action | Video Open
[Evening falls, finding Eric at the Blood Shack as per usual. There's a bit of a subdued manner about the entire place as well as it's host. There are hurricane lanterns lit and scattered about the room. In preparation for 'what if' there are large tubs with ice in them. Bottles of beer, soda, water and even liquor are sunk down into the ice. There's a chalkboard menu behind the bar advertising Hurricanes, Blood Hurricanes and a small assortment of bar food: pizza, buffalo wings, cheese sticks and something called a Blooming Onion that Spike seemed to have an affinity for. It's all takeout, purchased and arranged for ahead of time rather than anything remotely fresh. Few people know how to prepare for a disaster like residents of Louisiana ~~or thousand year old vampires~~.

He addresses the video screen with a charming smile and a dry tone.]

The Blood Shack is, of course, open for business. I've taken the liberty of preparing for the worst. Do come by and have a hurricane or a bloody hurricane with us. [If you can't guess what a bloody hurricane is, you don't want to ask] To borrow a famous British motto during a disaster: Keep calm and carry on.

Adapting to everything life likes to throw is a very good trait. [ eric, she likes you already. ]

Helen Magnus and yes I am. This is only my second day and I can't decide if I should be happy I haven't been here very long or upset that I am at all. Or perhaps something else I haven't considered. [ she looks thoughtful for a moment.

There's always a need to be adaptable if you know where to look for it. [ she's a special little cupcake in that regard. sometimes it's nice to be a human abnormal. however, she's very cryptic when she wants to be. usually. ]

That's also a good point. Can't hurt to err on the side of being positive. [ well, actually it can and she knows that better than most people. ] Either way, you've opened my eyes a bit. How should I repay the favor?

[Indeed it will.

She might not smell of blood, but the bar she's in is a blood bar with human drinks, she might detect the smell of blood depending on how good her senses are . Eric keeps the bar clean, but there's blood on tap and glasses of it sitting in front of customers. Eric himself is behind the bar when she arrives.]

[ luckily for her, she's entirely human aside from that pesky genetic longevity thing. so her sense of smell isn't good enough to pick that up. even if it were, she wouldn't be surprised. she's heard of the blood shack and deduced that it caters to a vampire population she has yet to discover.

regardless, she offers him a smile, moving up to that bar. ]

The same to you. Haven't got a few strong winds for that hurricane, have you?

[ she's smirking teasingly at him, though really a hurricane might be nice right about now. ]

[ definitely normal. she does not want a bloody one unless she were to take it back to nikola and even then, she's not so sure how he would feel about that. ]
