[ It's the first annual monthly bi-weekly — it's the first Memorial Garden Committee meeting! The invitations have been sent, a couple of park benches in Sector 0 have been claimed and there's even a few plates of home-made cookies put out in case the allure of fast food on a stick wasn't enough. How can you resist? That's right, you can't!

The instigator to all this is pretty nervous but once the clock strikes noon he clears his throat and kicks off the meeting the only way he can. ]

Alright, so… some of all y'all might remember me talkin' 'bout puttin' together a Memorial Garden for all our friends who've disappeared a while back. Now, I know we already got some o' that stuff 'round here but this would be somethin' we'd create all on our own. We'd decide what t' plant in it an' tend to it an' pool our rehab points together to get seeds an' plants or whatever else we need.

There ain't no pressure to help out. We do what we can, alright? What we're good at. I'm happy to help anyone who don't know how t' grow things an' wants to learn, but th' important part is that we all get a chance to have a say in this. This is where this comes in. Just write down your ideas an' we'll gather it all up an' make sure everyone gets somethin' they want.

[ He gestures to a SUGGESTION BOX set out with a stack of paper and some pens for all your suggestive needs. ]

Alright... that's all I had t' say. You go on an' talk amongst yourselves an' have fun!

(ooc: Mingle! Socialize to your hearts content, whether you got an invitation to the meeting or not. Notifs are off but Aidan has a thread HERE if you want to hit him up specifically! Feel free to let your character leave serious ideas for the memorial garden (or just troll the hell out of it) in the suggestion box HERE ! ))

[ Peggy's lips quirk in a wry smile ] But ignoring the dissent is hardly bound to do it any favors. All it takes is one man to bring about a revolution.

Not if that man is incompetent and never even a small threat.

And yet one small pebble can start an avalanche. Incompetence can always be overcome. [ and she smiled then because she remembered the Steve that had one her heart long before he became the man known as Captain America. Perseverance sometimes did pay off. ]

We know this, but something that has only known authority and never had it seriously questioned wouldn't.

They clearly consider us all equally incapable.

Then we'll simply need to prove them wrong.

[ although Peggy can't begin to fathom how to even those odds. If Steve had still been here... but no. She had her own strength. It would see her through as it always had. ]

If you don't mind the question, has an escape attempt ever seriously been undertaken? If we can learn from their mistakes, perhaps we could find a weakness.

[ or simply force their ways down into the underground again, to rescue those who had been lost. ]

We're surrounded by ocean; breaking out forcefully would be suicide. [So no, not that way. Even if one could survive underwater, they'd still have to contend with what else is out there. And they'd be stuck on a foreign world]

Once, in the previous dome, someone proven to be extremely versed in computers [A girl. Lain] tried to breach the system, either reprogram the then current warden or disable them so that we could use the technology ourselves. Doing so caused an entire shutdown of facility functions-- lighting, heating, ventilation, transfer of food and supplies-- for... three, four days. Other attempts, to test the system and not even attack the wardens, have had similar results.

I suspect there's a failsafe to ensure mutual destruction if the system is tampered with. I also suspect that the reason why none of that happened during the rebellion I mentioned before is because it was a previous warden, Sentience, that led us down below and immediately replaced the warden at the time, Acumen.

It would hardly be suicide if we could discover where they keep this dimensional stabilizer. If it can bring us here, it can certainly send us back.

[ although that would be like putting all their eggs in one basket. But a little bit of risk was sometimes necessary in war. But she sighed and rubbed a hand down her skirt, smoothing it of a wrinkle in a necessary moment of pondering. ]

Although I suppose there's much more that must go into this then I had originally supposed. [ she sighed ] Escape is never easy, is it? From what you've described, it sounds like we'll need an entirely independent system to keep the dome going if or when we bypass the wardens.
