Day 211 [action/voice]
[ action/open ]

[ From long before the morning message -- since around midnight, actually -- until around noon, Dirk can be found working in the gardens in Sector Four. When it begins to rain, he scowls, but keeps his work up. He has a date to go on tonight; and he's fairly sure that if he skips out, that troll that is his pre-scratch self will further attempt to fuck things up with Jake. He can't allow that.

Do feel free to bother him. ]

[ voice/open/around 11AM ]

What a great day for rain.

Got a few things I wanted to mention before I'm too preoccupied. First: That wiki Crane was working on? Last night I added a page to answer a bunch of recurring newbie questions. Hopefully, it'll cut down on some of the repetitiveness of New Inmates Day.

Second: My friend Roxy and I have a project we're working on. You know, bettering ourselves for rehab and shit? Anyone who's good with computers is welcome to come help us out. Tony Stark, Penelope Garcia? You two might be interested. We're thinking of meeting in the computer lab tomorrow, around one PM. Who all's game?

Third: Just so everyone knows, I'm taking Jake English to the Sadie Hawkins dance tonight. This is not up for debate. [ He's just a smidgen defensive. Things have been getting under his skin lately. ]

[ action/closed to flatmates ]

[ Around noon, Dirk drags himself home, takes a surprisingly quick shower to clean the mud from himself, and collapses face-first into bed.

You really don't want to bother him. Or do you? ]

I said nothing, bro.

[ Nothing he's going to discuss over a public channel, anyway. Fucking no-filters punishment. ]

So why the whole "I'm going with Jake and that's final." attitude? You seem kinda defensive?

Well, duh, I wouldn't ask Jake to the dance.

So sounds like something is up to me? Who's after your man?

Oh.

[Hmm...]

Well, it's really not my business, but if you want to talk we can meet somewhere? You know you can rant to me and I won't give a shit.

[Bros.]

I'm finishing some shit up in the gardens in Sector Four. [ In the rain. ] I won't be able to up and abscond if you show up, so if you're really dying to know.

Well... we haven't exactly talked since... Ya know. [The kiss.]

Screw it. I'll come find you.

[And he'll be on his way, but stay on the line to chat a bit if Dirk wants.]

Hah. God, don't remind me. [ The fucking kiss.

When Helix does show up, Dirk is a pitiful sight to see. Trudging around in an apron and long gloves, trimming some fucking bushes. In the mud, because it's been raining for hours. This all could have been avoided if it weren't for the mass hallucinations a few days back, but nooo. ]

[Jeeze that is a sorry sight indeed. He's actually kind of pissed about the warden's being assholes and making him work in this shit condition.]

C'mon, it wasn't that bad.

[ Dirk is so sure that it's raining on purpose just to spite him.

Dirk is also one arrogant motherfucker. ]

In and of itself, maybe not. As part of the entire trend of that day, though? Yeah.

[ Snip snip. He's got these huge fucking hedge trimmers, don't push him. ]

Mn, being forced to kiss your friends, or enemies, or anyone really, kind of sucks.

[Helix has an umbrella, which he's standing near Dirk to keep the rain off of him. Not that it'll make him any more dry or less muddy, but it's the thought that counts.]

What is this punishment for this time?

[ Well, he appreciates the gesture.

He has to think, though, before answering that question. Crap. So many punishments. What was this one-- oh, right. ]

Got injured during the birthday party and had to have English bail my ass out to the hospital.

That combined with the assault charge. They both earned me some time in here.

[ Sigh. A particularly aggressive snip. ]

I noticed you talking to one of the new arrivals yesterday. The guy who looks like I jumped in a DeLorean thirty years from now?

[That guy was Dirk?]

So... he's digging on a younger Jake?

[info]smuppeteer
2013-03-27 11:42 pm UTC (link)
Yeah. I mean, on the Jake that's here. I'm pretty sure he's only doing it to tick me off, though, in which case I'm not sure whether to be gratified I don't turn actually out to be a pedo when I'm his age, or bothered that I'm apparently going to be that much of an immature troll.

[info]bluemoondog

Well you don't know that. It is an alternate timeline right? It could just be one of a few possibilities for how you turn out. In this case, a shitty result.

(Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

[info]smuppeteer

Extremely shitty.

Still, you don't think there's something to be said for the fact that we're genetically identical in every way?

[info]bluemoondog

No, I definitely get how that could frustrate you seeing as he is a version of you and a bad example at that. People can draw some shit conclusions about you from him.

Still, he's not you, because clearly you become a different person in a different timeline because of different circumstances. Something changes you and you are not him. Just like he is not you anymore.

It's your life man, alternate dick versions or not, if you hate him, don't become him. Simple as that.
