[ welcome to elena's room. it's filled with things. and boxes. some things are in some boxes. she's thought twice about making this video, and then thought twice about making it public (klaus) but on her second thought, she decided to stop hiding in the network.

I think we should keep our conversations private for now. Even if it's just something silly. It's not a good idea for you to have Klaus' attention. Even if Rebekah's already told him... [ she swallows. it may be a desperate, scared attempt to protect her... but elena's willing to be that, do that. being a witch might attract klaus' attention too, without her help, but... the thing that gives her more pause at the moment is jeremy, jenna - how she kept things from them to keep them safe, and it hurt them in the end. I was sixteen, and drunk, and I was with Matt. [ and caroline and tyler and bonnie probably, but semantics. he's right; she was a fun person back then. everything seemed so simple, so small. there's a wistfulness in her voice as she dryly recounts the story. the kind of wistfulness you might feel for somebody you used to know. ] I had to act like I was choking because it was the first time I drank that much. But my father was a doctor. [ so... that failed. she exhales. her expression sobers. that girl is gone.

she wants to say something. do something. she doesn't know what. she's sitting on the floor with damon, telling him about the past, when... elena knows what it feels like to have someone's presence scattered everywhere, in more ways than one. ] I wasn't angry because you did something stupid. I was angry because... I care what happens when you do it. [ for everyone else. for him too. ] Because I care why you would do it in the first place.
