Day 205 [Action | OTA]
[If it weren't for Aidan, Helix may never have come outside today at all. But injured boyfriends are very convincing when it comes to going grocery shopping with a bum wrist… that was pretty much his fault. Also, don't be fooled, Helix hides his injuries well, but he got into a scuffle too, he might walk with a slight limp.

So you can catch Helix in sectors 4, 2 or 0 and probably some places between? (If you want to plot elsewhere I'm cool with that)
]

((ooc: I am totally up for anyone and everyone tagging Helix, even if it's for non-smoochie times. State if you want a megabot in the title line thanks!))

Maybe? I haven't heard anything?

[Can you see through his lies Euphie? He is a very, very skilled liar though.]

(ooc: yeah he doesn't know that. So he's expecting that there's a charge for what Dirk and Jake attacked, and possibly a charge for his if the wardens didn't know it was him... but they do (but he doesnt know that). So he's trying to figure all that out. If people got punished for what he did or if it was only him? Fffff not sure if his efforts really helped at all...)

You just believe I didn't do it then? [Which is enough for her. She might be thinking about herself a little too much to catch lies.]

(OOC: Cool cool! There are a lot of variables and they aren't necessarily fixed so it's kind of head scratcher ICly. I just wanted to make sure you knew in case it impacted anything, but you did!)

Do what? The assault to get everyone slapped with a charge? Nah. You got injured but didn't hurt anything right? So why would it be you?

[That and he knew who might have been responsible.]

No. Not that I recall. [Memory and her have parted ways on a couple of occasions. Of course it wouldn't really make sense for it to have been her for many reasons, but there is still that uncertainty.] I guess you must be right. [She would like to believe that. She doesn't fully, but she'd like to.]

It's awful the people in Sector 6 keep getting hurt or killed though. They do seem very different, but that doesn't mean... [She frowns, looking down for a moment. Reality is a bit hard on her idealism at times.]

People? They're... not people. Maybe they're smarter than your average creature but they aren't anthropomorphic.

[And, yeah, okay putting it that way makes him feel a little guilty. They ARE fellow inmates, but it's hard to think of them that way. You'd think it'd be easier from an alien boy. The way he was raised though, he wasn't taught much in the way of treating other species well. But then, he didn't really treat ANYONE well. It's all the same to him.]

[She looks at him, unsure.] The wardens said they were intelligent life just like us.

Well, kind of? I mean, a dog is technically intelligent life? But it's still not the same as us. I mean, maybe there are other things in there that have a brain like ours but the things I've fought so far react more on instinct than with any sort of ... I don't know... plan.

Those wasps, for example, are just like any other swarm insect.

Ah... A dog? [She's still pretty unsure.] I didn't think that was the sort of thing they meant, but of course, even if it was it's still awful they keep getting hurt or worse.

[A shrug. Honestly, he didn't think too hard about it or really care.]

It's the only option we have of testing the limits in that Sector. Or, well it's the only limit I could try to push. Even then my monitor kind of defeated the experiment, but now we know.

[He's so distracted with this discussion he doesn't see a bot whizzing over towards them happily.]

The only limit you could push?

Helix, it was you? [This is distracting her from the bot as well.]

It wasn't only me? And I'm pretty sure none of you got hit with the assault I pulled cause my wrist monitor KNEW it was me.

[Down goes the barrier.]

HEY! Can't people just have a normal conversation without you stupid things interrupting??

[She looks around, not seeing a barrier, but knowing it's there just the same.]

Helix. [Less concerned about their impending kiss than their previous topic.] I'm not worried about the punishment. Are you doing alright?

... yeah, I'm fine.

[A little bruised but good.]

Why?

Because there must have been a reason you did that.

Yes, but...surely there must have been other ways of testing.

Not really. My options aren't as open as someone who's unattached. [Raising his wrist to indicate the band.]

The only other major rule to break would be to screw around with someone and I'm banded. Littering or some other stupid thing wouldn't really cut it.

[He's loyal, believe it or not and he didn't want to risk breaking his sex license with Aidan.]

[Of course she wouldn't want Aidan to get hurt, but she doesn't want anyone hurt much less killed. She can't imagine Aidan would either.]

How do you know without trying it first?

[Staring at her incredulously. Is she suggesting he try to cheat on Aidan in Sector 6? Cause that's what it sounds like.]

Are you serious? No. I'm not risking potentially losing my license with Aidan to go fuck someone else in Sector 6 for an experiment.

He means a hell of a lot more to me than some stupid creature. Someone else can go screw around in there that doesn't have a band. My option was Assault.

Ah, no, I meant the littering. [She's surprised he took it that way, not that she'd clarified.]

You also had the option not to do anything.

(Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

[info]bluemoondog
2013-04-11 02:34 pm UTC (link)
But doing nothing would be a pointless waste of time.

The whole point was to do SOMETHING and littering or-- What the hell is the difference to you? Just cause I hurt one of the damn monsters in there, it hurt me too thank you very much. If you're so sensitive about it why are you suggesting I go in there and tear up their habitat to prove a point?

[Is it uncomfortable yet? Cause he's starting to feel claustrophobic.]

Does it hurt?

[No. No don't do that. He hasn't built up a tolerance yet!]

I'm fine.

[Short and bristling.]

Can we just... kiss and get out of here please? This is getting really, really uncomfortable.

[He's tired of this discussion and being trapped and is just generally irritable, mostly at the bot!]

[It takes a heartbeat but he leans up to kiss her quickly in return. He breathes a sigh when the barrier is gone and backs up to get some space.]
