	LAST ONE, I PROMISE. I'm a bit addicted to this. One episode, about 15 minutes of screentime (counting that one minute freeze frame), and yet so popular that he's slowly been introduced more and more early and been given more and more page/screentime until he was introduced in the FIRST of FOUR rebuild movies. Arguably, the case with Roxas, whose tiny amount of screentime at the front of KH2 and very rare appearances like twice in the rest of the game resulted in fan uproar about how he deserved so much better, resulting in much more detail on him in the Final Mix+, a game about him, a game about his expy Ven, and future hints that he's going to be back.

On the other hand, this was arguably the plan. (But I don't always believe Nomura has a plan.)

There is no topping of the people already in here. He always had a plot Hoshino meant to come back to anyway and at this point he's totally a main character.

But I do think Kanda should get an honorable mention for disappearing for half the series but still topping the "favorite character" polls (IIRC he usually beat Allen, sob) right up until he finally reappeared. Also, the anime put him in more episodes. But the anime did a lot of things.
