[This would be filtered to Regulus and Tracey if she knew how. Alas.]

Do dogs have any special dietary needs other than not pastries?

[A deep, joyous bark is heard.]

Hush-- no. No past-- get down. Oh, for-- come here, you ridiculous creature.

I don't have much first hand experience, but I think a lot depends on the size and age of the dog itself. It's probably safest to start with protein.

Protein. Specifically..? No-- Magnus! Sit. Sit-- good boy.

He's a wolfhound, a little less than two years old.

Wow, you have your hands full then.

If you don't have any proper dog food available, see if the kitchen staff can send up a steak, or some ground beef to tide him over for the moment. Someone on the network might know where to locate a pet store, or a market that might sell something more appropriate for him.

He's a tad over-excited, yes. You missed me, didn't you? Didn't you? Yes, you did. No more, now.

[There's a funny sort of growling groan as the hound decides to flop at her feet instead of bounding around the room, and Narcissa relaxes somewhat.]

By ground, you mean minced, correct? [Language barriers when both parties are speaking English is peculiar.]

Yes, though he'll probably enjoy the steak more if he's a big guy. And I'm sure he is.

[Narcissa turns her phone to her feet, where a monstrous, shaggy dog sprawls, looking up at her with limpid eyes. Magnus is a big boy.]

See for yourself.

.... Are you sure that's not a horse?

Perhaps a pony... but his tail is completely wrong.

You got a dog?

Not intentionally. I woke up because I couldn't move my legs, and lo - Magnus is mine.

...is this usual?

This type of thing has happened before.

But... You really got a dog?

[Magnus barks again.]

--hush. Yes. Is that an issue? Are we not allowed pets in our rooms?

I've never bothered to check. I would assume not. None of my pets have vanished randomly.

But you're not understanding my objections are to dogs themselves.

This one seems to have appeared randomly, so I would hope the reverse isn't true.

No, I'm not, because you've never taken issue with Papa's wolfhounds before.

You're mistaking silence for compliance. Which was hardly the case.

I prefer cats.

I don't think the Land of Make Believe really cares about our preferences.

[It's a wolfhound, Regulus. An adolescent wolfhound in all its shaggy, mountainous glory.]

...I don't think I would, but that's useful, I suppose.

At least he's settled down for now; these rooms are not suited for excited wolfhounds.

I'm not sure what would be suited for an excited wolfhound.

I'm used to a manor, not a suite. Space is a marvellous thing.
