~~Because this is apparently necessary.~~

There are those here who have ended up in the bodies of acquaintances of mine. Which means that you’re suddenly in possession of new abilities that you might find difficult to control. I would like to offer my assistance. ~~I never wanted another Padawan and now I have~~ Consider it a class on the basics of the Force, to try and give you some element of control for however long this switch lasts.

No. You’re not.

Any arrangements I might need to make I have plenty of time to make. And the fact of the matter is that you and Anakin are just as important as my students. [Oh, for star’s sake she has students again. What was she thinking?] You’ve been just as affected as they have.

I know you probably don’t want to leave your room. [But she didn’t think holing himself away would be best. Which was why, when she opened her mouth again, she made the offer that she did.] But you should come to mine. [If being around me won’t remind you of what you’ve lost. But she didn’t say it.]

[Siri is neatening her already somewhat tidy room when he reaches her door. She turns at the knock, only to be rendered breathless at the sense of loss he’s feeling. Oh Force. She steadies herself, and answers the door. The sight of Obi-Wan wearing Anakin’s robes startles a smile out of her.]

I see Anakin kept his robes.

[She opens the door wider, stepping back and gesturing for him to come inside.]

[Seeing her without feeling her is like looking at a picture of her. He smooths a hand down the front of the tunic self-consciously.]

Mm. Not a perfect fit, by any means, but far better than my own.

[Understatement. He estimates this body to be a good half head taller than his own at least. He clears his throat and steps inside.]

This is more disorienting face to face than I was expecting. [He reaches out his hand and tentatively touches her shoulder.] I can see and touch you, but it's still like you're not even here. Like you're a realistic life-size model of you.

It’s fortunate that he kept them.

[It’s strange, looking up at Obi-Wan to such a degree, and looking at a face so very different. Looking at her employer’s face. She finds herself missing his beard. She closes the door behind him. Having him there, within view, is reassuring.]

I’m sorry, Obi-Wan.

[That there’s nothing she can do for him, nothing she can do to help ease his sense of loss, weighs on her. But she will still try to do something; she can at least attempt to stave off the worst of his despondence. It... worries her. She covers the hand he uses to tentatively touch her shoulder with her own, curling her fingers around his.]

I’m here. And I’m not going anywhere. I promise.

[She knows her words, fierce though they may be, are nothing, can do nothing to change the fact that he can’t sense her, can’t sense anything. But she means them.]

[If he wasn't looking right at her, he wouldn't know if she did. The thought is startling. He withdraws his hand and looks away.]

You don't need to be sorry. I'm sure I'll regain... soon enough.

[He moves idly around the room, not really taking it in. He's like a communications array that's lost its signal; some part of him is just trying to make that contact again.]

[She watches him move idly around her room, her heart breaking. This is wrong. Horribly, awfully wrong. She didn’t know if physical contact would help, but he couldn’t sense her... so there wasn’t any other way to reassure him of her presence. She closes the distance he put between them in his moving around, reaching out and taking his hand, tangling her fingers in his and holding on tightly. She pulls him around to face her.]

Doesn’t change the fact I am.

[She would ease this for him if she could. But all her wanting to doesn’t change the fact that she can’t. All she can do is be there for him, and train the man temporarily using his body to make sure he didn’t do anything to it. And one of those things is... incredibly inadequate, considering what he’s going through.]

[Her hand in his feels so comforting that it makes him uncomfortable. Danger. He knows he's vulnerable now. His emotions could run rampant. His whole head is already spinning.]

Thank you. [He smiles awkwardly and slips his hand out of her and instantly regrets it.] I, um... would it be an imposition to ask if you've anything to eat? [Because he hasn't had breakfast and, while he doesn't feel hungry, it would be prudent to eat.]

[She lets him go, tucking her hands into the pockets of her jeans in a way that manages not to be completely graceless. She gives him a small, crooked smile. Food is something she can manage. The only thing edible in her room at the moment is the large bag of candy Wade gave her. So she’ll just have to find her way to the dining hall. Or the kitchens.]

Not at all.

[She indicates the bag of candy on the table next to her bed (beside her lightsaber) with a tilt of her head.]

Unless you feel sweets make a suitable meal, I don’t have much of anything here at the moment, but it’s a simple enough thing to rectify. Is there anything in particular you’d like?
