Rating/Warnings: Low/some bad language

What a fucking night - and probably the first she'd ever thought that when there hadn't been spells or village brawls or a hundred witches trying to cut her heart out of her chest. It'd been more than draining, but in a way she was completely fine with handling. As always, Gretel woke with the sun, but even in the thick feather bed in a lavish castle room, she hadn't felt safe or even comfortable until last night. All because of the man snoring on the floor beside the bed.

She'd stepped gingerly over him like she'd done a million times before, and after gently making sure he was still breathing, went about getting dressed. Not the thin summer shirt or coarse denim she'd been forcing herself to get used to. Not the flimsy underthings that had wires that dug into her ribs whenever she lifted the crossbow. Maybe for solidarity's sake, or the fact that she simply was much more comfortable, after a shower (one of the definite pluses of this time period), she worked herself into her boots, the leather pants, cotton shirt, gauntlets, and yes, even the bodice. When Hansel began to stir, she was sitting on the edge of her bed, weaving her hair.

"He lives," she said with a distinct smile in her voice.

It took a minute really, between all the crazy that Gretel had dropped and the few names she'd mentioned, Hansel took a little minute to attach 'Wade' to 'mercenary that got me drunk' from his fuzzy memory of the previous night.

"Right, yeah," he took the hand offered on automatic response. "I think she told me good things." Hansel said, chewing around a piece of bacon and glaring at Gretel's thievery. "You know that I can remember."

Wade smiled under the mask and glanced at Gretel, giving Hansel's hand a firm shake in his grip before letting go and sitting down again.

"She told ya good things huh? Well I'm glad. I'm a pretty awesome dude though so I don't doubt she said awesome things." He teased. "You can't see it but I gave a playful wink."

He set back to his meal, finishing it off like a guy who hadn't seen a good meal in weeks. In truth, he was a horrible cook at best and was used to chimichangas and food from places that were considered greasy spoons. Or were 7-11s. This place? Paradise as far as he was concerned.

"So... what are you guys gonna do now?"

Undeterred by her brother's dagger-look, Gretel suppressed a snort of amusement around her ill-gotten bacon, but kept the lion's share of her attention mostly fixed on her breakfast.

"One thing at a time," she answered Wade's general question to both of them. Dealing with their monetary situation was just one notch on a long list of things that had to be addressed, now that Hansel had shown up. Her eyes flicked up to Wade, then her twin after she sneaked another small bite of toast, catching any crumbs left on her lips with the back of her hand.

"After you've got your head back on right, we can show you around. Probably wait to go into the city."
