Undeterred by her brother's dagger-look, Gretel suppressed a snort of amusement around her ill-gotten bacon, but kept the lion's share of her attention mostly fixed on her breakfast.

Dealing with their monetary situation was just one notch on a long list of things that had to be addressed, now that Hansel had shown up. Her eyes flicked up to Wade, then her twin after she sneaked another small bite of toast, catching any crumbs left on her lips with the back of her hand.
