Who: Bo and Booker
What: Getting some things for their PI office
When: Sunday, May 19
Where: Downtown New Creandi
Rating/Warnings: Possible PG13 for Possible Cursing
Status: Closed/Incomplete

It occurred to Booker that he should probably have gotten to know his new business partner a little better than the occasional text message. Truth be told, he never really liked working with anyone in the past, but in the back of his mind, he was thinking the extra pair of eyes on him and his habits were all the better. Not that he planned on falling into an alcoholic debt crisis all over again.

Elizabeth's arrival had put a halt to anything else he had going on, but once they'd handled their little situation, and he got her going with the necessities, the girl was off on her never ending quest for knowledge. She too had a lot to catch up on, moreso than him. He'd check in here and there but she could do with some independence.

That didn't mean Booker wasn't checking his little phone thing every few minutes as he waited at the corner of the street, near the coffee place he and Bo were set to meet.

It was a little bit strange to think that she had talked to this guy so much and she hadn't really gotten the chance too do the face to face thing yet. That was probably the one thing that sucked about technology. It made it less likely that people got together physically, but that wasn't always the case.

Bo liked to do the face to face thing. And Booker was pretty much everything she had been expecting. There was a sort of serious air to him. He was exactly like he was every time they had talked.

"Well, at least I wasn't late." She joked, glad that she had been on time and not running late, actually. It was much easier to run on time with no Kenzi to distract her. Despite the fact that Bo might normally have been all for the coffee, today the succubus was rather energized. "I'm good, don't need coffee today, but if you're in need of a caffeine boost, go for it. I'm good to go, though. So, if you don't need any, onward to whatevers first on our list." She informed him.

He didn't know the signs yet, but Bo was in good shape today. Her skin was clear, she had a bit of a healthy glow about her that only feeding caused, really. She'd be good to go all day, without stopping too much, probably. Though, she was sure that it wouldn't last for long.

Booker was glad that he and Bo were finally meeting and communicating over something that wasn't digital. He was able to figure out the device and use it easily enough but he really preferred the face to face thing. Or for people to leave him alone. Considering they'd be working together it was best they formed some sort of working relationship.

"No, not late at all." He offered an amused smirk. For all his faults, Booker could at least show up on time, he didn't mind it if Bo had made him wait a few seconds. There were worse things.

Again he dismissed the idea of coffee, ready to just go and get what they needed for the office. Booker was tired of sitting around, he hated it. He could get coffee later. "I can get it later. But, ah," He folded his arms when she mentioned a list, because he certainly hadn't made one. Booker wasn't that efficient. "I don't really have a list. I figured we could just...get what we thought was needed along the way?"

That sounded very unorganized and none to intriguing for his first appearance as a business partner. But Booker was good at the investigations, maybe not list making.

Hopefully the whole working together thing would be easy. Bo had never had an actual office. When she and Kenzi had done the PI thing they had just met with their clients out and about wherever they wanted to meet up. And Kenzi had been the one that always arranged everything, it had never been something that Bo had to worry about. Kenzi had been the smart one, despite everything. Bo had a lot by way of street smarts, but she wasn't exactly the most business minded. Her skills made themselves useful, though. She didn't have a problem with the grunt work part of the job, but the office part was not as easy for Bo. The girl hadn't graduated high school, let alone any other kind of schooling.

Bo wasn't really a person that ran late, generally. Not unless she had a reason. That had been the whole issue with Lauren, despite her good reasoning, running late had really upset her. And that had been the big thing that had caused the end of their relationship.

Bo couldn't help the grin. Looked like her new business partner was about as organized as Bo herself was. "Sounds like a plan to me. I'm bad at the whole list making thing too." She shared and then shot him a bit of a cheeky grin. "Kenzi took care of all the office sort of things. I just did the jobs. So, between the two of us we'll find everything we need I'm sure."

Bo wasn't exactly your most organized or professional person. She was pretty casual. She was cool with just winging it. "We'll wing it."

"Sounds like we'll get along just fine then." Already within the first few minutes of their meet it had been established both Bo and Booker were fairly easy going on time, not organizational list makers, and completely fine with making things up as they went. That was Booker's favorite way of operating, doing it as he went, so he saw no issue with 'winging it' as she'd said.

But with having a company and clients, well, having someone who wasn't disorganized would be best. Booker had done well to keep track of his jobs back from home but that was before the twenty first century, and having more than one PI working at a time. "Though we should probably see about hiring someone like a secretary or something. We both might benefit from that."

Today they needed to get to their office supplies and interior, so Booker motioned to the opposite street with his hand. "Shall we? I walked around the city for awhile trying to figure out where the hell to get office supplies from. Apparently there's an Office Depot, and a few small furniture stores. All along the same block, thankfully."

At least Booker wasn't the uptight kind? That was Bo's main thought at the moment. If he had been more uptight, which she had worried a little bit about, she wouldn't be feeling okay about this little business venture of their's. It wasn't that Bo minded uptight people a ton, but she didn't thinks he could work with someone too stuck in that mode. She wasn't good at following rules and she wasn't good at being held to any super uptight standards.

Bo was pretty sure that this whole partnership was going to work just fine, though.

She was actually glad that he'd made the plans with her. She definitely felt more included in this thing now. And it was a good chance to get a better feel for him. She could already tell some things about him. He wasn't going to ride her ass about things, which was good because Bo needed someone to boss and yell at her like she needed another hole in the head. And he didn't seem to be staring at her or freaking out about what she was, which was another good sign. "Probably a good idea. Got anybody in mind?" Bo had to wonder if he knew anyone because if not she might. Ruby probably wouldn't be bad for the job. She had said that was what she had done back where she was from for a little while actually. But, but Bo also didn't want to make it seem like some kind of hand out either. And she seemed to want the police station. So, the thought was gone as quickly as it came.

"We shall." Bo moved to start walking, listening to him as she moved, ignoring the sound her boots made against the ground. "Look at you, being prepared and checking where these things were." She teased a little bit. "And lucky us, actually, too. Where do you want to start? Furniture stuff first?"

As they walked Booker thought on a secretary. He'd have liked to offer the job to Elizabeth but it seemed demeaning. Sitting around in an office all day..no she had much more potential than that, and he wouldn't tie her down. He shook his head. "Nah, not really. You? It's a simple enough job, there's gotta be someone who'll take it."

He wasn't worried about filling the position. It didn't seem that in the span of a hundred or so years there'd been any less of a need for female secretaries. If anything, more women were jumping at the chance for work, which Booker could appreciate. Along with some other major changes in the times.

"Couple hundred years difference between now and where I'm from. Haven't had much of a choice not to check up on things. Being the odd man out hasn't exactly been a thing of mine either." Booker gave a small smirk to her gentle teasing. He was out of his element, but never very long. Before his trip to Columbia he may have shrugged the comment off, or rolled his eyes, not even bothered with work associates. He always worked alone, didn't care much for people or have the patience for them. The city in the sky changed that, and so did Elizabeth. Booker was thankful because it was obvious you needed people, had to trust them sometimes, even if it was a risk. And Bo wasn't so bad. "I'm thinking it'll be smarter to do the furniture first on account that'll have to be delivered. We can carry the office supplies ourselves, so lets get that last sow e don't have to cart it around in the furniture store."

Bo didn't want to saddle someone with the job that she knew wanted to do a little more, which was exactly where she thought Ruby might be, but she was sure that there was someone at the castle that might need a job. It would probably be pretty simple to get word around and to hire someone for it. "Not anyone in particular, but I'm sure there's someone around the castle who got thrown into this mess like us that could use it." Bo shrugged a little bit. She was honestly sure that if they put some word out that someone would crawl out of the woodwork to snatch it up. It probably wouldn't be an extremely hard job, all things considered.

"Once we get it all started up I'm sure once we put word out someone would take it." She said, a bit offhandedly. Hell, maybe if they did that Ruby would take it. Bo wouldn't mind working with another person that she got along with. Booker seemed pretty easy to get along with thus far, but she hadn't really gotten the chance to know him that well yet. She figured they'd work fine together, but he still wasn't Dyson. Or Kenzi. Or Hale.

Bo grinned at him admitting that he had to check up on things, due to the time difference of where he was from. He did pretty well, considering the fact that he wasn't from a time similar to this, as far as Bo was concerned, anyway. "Well, keep on doing your thing because it's working for you." She teased, Bo nodded at the logic he had when it came to furniture versus office supplies first and gave him a nod. "Smart, man. Furniture store it is." If he had been Kenzi, Bo probably would have linked arms or something silly, but she resisted the urge and started to think about the things that were needed in an office. Desk, chair....that sort of thing.

"So, office furniture....a few chairs and a couple desks, right?" She threw out with a bit of a grin, pretty sure that stuff would be easy to decide on.

"I'm sure you're right. There's no short of jobless people coming in this place." He wasn't going to loose any sleep over it. They would be just fine handling the paperwork and whatnot on their own until someone came along. Booker never had a secretary before, much less another PI, so any of this was a luxury and new. Nothing he was too worried about.

Booker was on the road to attempting not to do his regular 'thing' as that usually got him into trouble. But it did always work well for him when it came to getting things done, didn't make a whole lot of friends in the process, but he wasn't as concerned with making friends as he was his job. Elizabeth made him think more on that.

Holding the door open for Bo when they reached the store, a list of needs running in his mind on what they would need. The place smelled new and expensive. All if these futuristic placed were. Booker hoped it wasn't. "And filing cabinets with locks. Lamps, pens, papers, all that stuff."
