Valentines Day. Precisely 147 days since Myka and Helena had come face to face for the first time since the Warehouse explosion. The day that they had expressed their true feelings for one another. Since that day they’d had their ups and downs where at times their relationship was strained. Saying the wrong things at times upsetting one another. Secrets being shared that most assuredly had taken time to getting used to. But no relationship could be perfect. At least that was what Myka believed deep inside. If they were both perfect individuals with an entirely perfect relationship neither would be the woman that the other fell for. As she finished the last touches of her makeup, Myka smiled. The last 147 days she wouldn’t change for the world. She was with the woman she loved and nothing was going to tear them apart. The days ahead were undoubtedly going to be tough to handle but they’d get through it together. The castle’s lastest shenanigans had caused a panic and the backlash wasn’t going to end anytime soon. As much as she saw it coming, Myka still couldn’t handle the fact that the younger Helena and Anakin’s had ended up together in the future. In her mind they were very much still like their adult selves and it stirred up feelings that Myka was unaware she had. There had never been the idea that Helena would leave her for someone else until that moment. The pregnancy had been just an additional blow. Myka had kept quiet though she was certain that Helena had noticed that something wasn’t right, but thankfully the Victorian woman hadn’t mentioned it at all. On top of all that she still hadn’t come to terms with Pete and Steve now being gone. She’d only buried those feelings beneath everything and focused on how everyone else was feeling. Smoothing out her dress, Myka took one last look at herself and then tried to calm the butterflies. She’d gone out while on lunch during the week and purchased a pearl bracelet for Helena. The Victorian woman had mentioned once or twice her love for pearls and Myka knew that it was the perfect Valentines gift. But without even meaning to she’d gravitated over to the case of engagement rings. Helena was the only person that she could truly see herself marrying. The only other person would have been Sam and he had been gone for a long time. After looking at a few she found one that would fit the Victorian woman perfectly. The band was simple and the diamonds accented the ruby that sat in the center. The smile on her face as she walked out of the store that day would have been the brightest she’d ever worn to those who knew her. As she walked out into the sitting room Myka picked up the teddy bear and smelled the flowers that she had been left on the table. Across the room the two dozen roses, a box of chocolates, and the box containing the bracelet she purchased for Helena sat on a side table. When the door to the room opened, Myka knew instantly who it was. Young Helena had chosen to spend time away from the two of them for the evening and so it could only be one other person. Turning she smiled a smile that reached her eyes and lit up her whole face before saying, “Happy Valentines Day, Hel.” |
