[Ring, ring...]
[Myka is impatiently pacing the floor of her room as she waits for her friend to pick up]

"But... why weren't you inside the barrier, too?"

[Myka's voice is so full of emotion. She doesn't want Helena to die, she argued so much against destroying the Janus coin.]

"It had to be initiated from outside the barrier."

[Helena's tone was soft, very similar to how she'd said as much to Myka, Pete and Artie shortly before the bomb detonated. Despite the soft tone, emotion was heavy in her voice.]

"I wanted you to live, and I had a way to ensure that happened. It ultimately meant that I died, but that did not matter to me. All I cared about was that you were alive."

[Helena meant "you" specifically in regards to Myka, but it could also be taken as being the plural use including Pete and Artie as well. She did wonder if Myka would understand that, and if she didn't, Helena wouldn't explain now. That tied directly into Helena's true feelings for Myka, and now was not the time to bridge that conversation.]
