You were probably more correct than you even thought. I haven't been around 'people' - human people, for many hundreds of years. Add in that English is not my first language by any means, and I sometimes am completely lost about what is going on. It seems I also can have problems getting my own point across as well.

It's huge. Bigger than you could ever imagine. We've only managed to get to the edge of the Milky Way and there's still so much that hasn't been explored, even in our own galaxy. It's dangerous. There's a lot of aliens that hate my kind and think that wiping us out is the best solution. It scares the hell out of me sometimes, that if I die, I'm not going to be missed in the grander scheme of the universe.

Yet it's still the most beautiful goddamn place I've ever seen.

It sounds like the sort of place I could find a home one day. And from what you said there is more tolerance for differences?
