RP: An evening walk
Characters: Bill and Melinda
Date: 2. February 2006
Setting: National Mall, Washington, DC
Summary: A romantic evening walking tour of the National Monuments in Washington, DC
Warnings:TBD

Washington, DC, didn’t exactly sound like the perfect place for a date, especially in early February when there had been a small plethora of exotic dates available. However, it was the only one that had really appealed to Melinda at this point. For one, it would take her to a city – and she was a city girl through and through – and it didn’t include a crowded club or a loud concert. No, this walk gave her the chance to spend time with Bill, just taking a walk in the park. More or less, at least.

She threaded her fingers through Bill’s and walked with him to the huge stairs by the reflecting pool, and after a quick (and discreet) Charm on the stairs to warm it, she snuggled under his arm and rested her head on his shoulder as she watched the setting sun turn the reflections in the water purple and orange.

Bill let his hands drift up and slowly card back into her hair. He lingered on each kiss, savoring it. "I'm not sure some of them would have cared. You're a pretty, kind, lovely lady, Melinda." Someone they would have wanted to stay, even if she wasn't the happiest around. But his arms tightened around her, and he was very happy that she'd chosen the way she had.

"I'm glad we're still together here and now, even if the privacy is a little less than stellar." He grinned at her.

”Charmer,” Melinda whispered with a grin as Bill listed positives about her. She shut him up, by pressing her lips to his and letting the kiss deepen a little.

“I’m glad, too,” she assured him, and looked back out over the reflection pool. Off to the side, trying to be inconspicuous and still catch her attention, a production assistant was waving at her, signaling for them to get going again. She took Bill’s hand and let him help her up before they descended the stairs.

“Cormac would want me to stay,” she admitted with a chuckle, “because my hair products are better than his, but Cho?” Her smile turned fond as she thought of her overly-romantic friend. “Cho would move the Earth and start campaigning to get me off the show so I could be with you.”

Bill chuckled into her mouth, happy to just be kissing her. At this point he was more than happy to ignore the cameras at will, though his mother might have key words for him about it later.

He did sigh slightly as they rose, though he understood that for the show's purposes, they had to keep moving so things would be interesting to the watchers.

He snorted. "Let him buy his own hair products," he said in an amused voice. Though it was good to know that Cho would be an advocate for them. "That's definitely a good thing to know."

”Yeah,” Melinda laughed. ”I’ve been trying to do that for years. It’s just never really seemed to stick, so I’ve more or less decided to stop wasting my energy on that.”

She slipped under Bill’s arm and put her own around his waist, not just for warmth but simply to stay close to him. “Those two are my best friends,” she told him, smiling up at him. “I’m glad you’ve already met them.”
