Bill had to admit, he had a moment of nervousness when it took Melinda a moment to choose. Though he had developed trust in her enough to know that if she did skip him over, there was likely a very good reason and she'd tell him, it didn't mean he wouldn't be disappointed. He really wanted to develop a relationship with her starting with what they already had. But he wasn't about to be a berk like Cormac about things either.
He relaxed from his slight tensing and gave her a wonderful, warm smile. "Nothing would delight me more," he told her, crossing the distance between them to cup her cheek and kiss her softly.
