Birthdays 20 February (Wednesday): Caradoc Dearborn
Prompts All Week - Open to 10 Students, 3 Alumni It's that time of the year, apparently. Yes, that's right - cold and flu season. While it's been trickling, it's starting to pick up and make its rounds at both Hogwarts and Great Britain. It starts with just a sniffle, but by the next day it's nearly impossible to leave bed you're so tired and your coughing is so awful. It only lasts for about four days, but that doesn't mean it's an easy four days. Unfortunately, it seems like it's spreading more and more. Hogwarts, especially, seems to have quite an epidemic on their hands. Note: This is only open to ten students and three alumni. Please respond here if you would like one of your characters affected by it. This will be given at a first come, first serve basis. Students: Elaine Campbell, Killian Mulciber, Shannon Ryskamp; OPEN x6 Alumni: Rufus Scrimgeour; x2
Sunday February 17th In an attempt to lighten the mood at the school, the USO is hosting a Talent Showcase. All students who are interested in participating must audition in front of a panel of professors and the co-heads of the organization starting at noon in the choir room. Think you're talented? Why not try?
Tuesday February 19th After the article was published in the Daily Prophet on Sunday, the Ministry has decided to take greater lengths to make sure that certain bits of information are not leaked to the general public. While this goes against everything the Minister said wasn't happening, the Ministry starts by tightening their control on the newspaper itself. Nothing is actually announced the the members of the Ministry, but that doesn't keep the rumour mill quiet.
Wednesday February 20th With the recent new hair trends at Hogwarts including that of unnatural hair colours, the administration announces that any student who has hair that is any colour other than that of a natural sort (red, blonde, brown, or black) will be given a detention for every day their hair is that colour. If a problem persists, greater action will be taken. Students are split with the decision - some are happy (what a distraction!) while others are upset (how dare they try to take away our expression!). Where do you lie?
Friday February 22nd You wake up on Friday thinking it's just another day, but at breakfast something rather odd happens. You know the enchanted ceiling in the Great Hall? Well, it seems that the charm has been extended through all of the corridors in the castle, which isn't bad at all. Well, not until the rainy weather that is outside starts happening inside and even worse than outside! In fact, it goes so far as to strong winds, lightning, and tornados of all things! This happens at exactly 10:17 in the afternoon and all students are shut up in the classrooms, library, common rooms, the Great Hall - whatever the case may be - until the professors fix the problem in the entire school. Unfortunately, this isn't cleared up until the next morning just before breakfast. House Elves do bring both food and sleeping bags for students periodically throughout the day, but you'd better get comfortable!
