The high was going to be 36 degrees. Then they'd have a couple of days of decent weather and it would be even colder. Madison Valley, Indiana sucked, to say the least.
Oh, sure, it wasn't exactly hot in San Francisco right now. But it was only chilly versus what-the-hell-ever this was. And it was still just the beginning of November which meant it was going to get a lot worse before it got better. Besides, if he were at home, he could just orb off to the Caribbean or something and warm up if he needed to. Here, he was lucky he could orb to the settlement or to work when he was running late.
Of course, Chris also had to remind himself that if he were home, he'd be dead. Or a baby, depending on how you looked at it. So maybe a 21 degree low temperature was a blessing in disguise.
It still felt like a curse, however, as he looked over the selection of gloves Walmart had. How did people function while wearing gloves? You couldn't do anything with your hands, could you? This was so stupid. Maybe he'd finally saved up enough for one of those transportation portal trips. But Thanksgiving was around the corner and being part of a huge family meant huge family meals. Which was still new to him but like hell he was going to complain.
