Jesse was always thankful to Jeremy for taking Max when he and Ella wanted a bit of time to themselves. Even with Max and Ella expecting, finding time to spend with each other wasn't all that difficult for McCree and Ella. His schedule could be questionable on a good day, but they managed. They always seemed to do just that.
He was fortunate to have Ella; to have found her when she needed help the most. Though Jesse's initial reason for helping was to continue to clear his conscience, something else transpired.
Something Jesse McCree hadn't been expecting or believing he'd ever wanted in his life. Now he couldn't bear to think what it'd be like without it.
As promised, they ventured through the city in the safety of the daylight hours. Going for tasty meals, tea, sightseeing, and shopping. One thing that still hadn't changed over the few centuries difference for McCree was the bartering. That he was plenty skilled at. His wager was fair but he wasn't to be taken either.
They'd come across a gallery of antiques and paintings that caught the eye of his wife. Never one to deny her anything, that was where they were. Where they'd been for a good while going by the time on the large grandfather clock in the establishment and the dimming light outside.
Giving her arm a gentle squeeze, McCree dropped a kiss the top of Ella's head. "Thinkin' we oughta start back, darlin'. Seems to be gettin' late."
