Rowan had seen the post about how it was more dangerous in this place at night, but Rowan who normally listened to that type of stuff lost track of time. While she was the type to miss curfew or stay out later than she should, she didn’t go walking or staying in places with the trouble that she couldn’t handle. All the night time stuff wasn’t something Rowan felt like dealing with, especially since she didn’t have any superpowers or anything like that. Of course, the one time she lost track of the time it had to be in a place that wasn’t exactly the best place to be doing that.
By the time Rowan had headed back to the portal to head into Madison, it was completely dark. Pulling her bag back on her shoulder, she tried to ignore the feeling of being watched, but it was a feeling she knew all too well these days. Looking over her shoulder, Rowan saw nothing, but she still felt like something was in the shadows. Not wanting to stick around to find out if her gut was right, Rowan took off running. She was quick and fast, especially with all the running she was doing lately back in her own world, but the other thing was faster.
All of a sudden Rowan was grabbed and pulled back hard, facing a man only it quickly turned out to be more than a guy. “Shit,” she mumbled almost to herself at the sight of a vampire grabbing her arm, hurting it slightly in the process. “Let go of me,” she exclaimed before swinging her bag at him as hard as she could, making contact as she swung it again. Though it really wasn’t doing much other than making it more pissed off. As she went in for a third swing even harder, it grabbed her bag and was holding it in his grip, squeezing her arm from the spot he had been holding. She can survive Monkey man, a car almost running over her, and even King Cobra just to die from a vampire. Oh yeah, this was really how it was going to end for her, wasn’t it?
For a moment, she thought about kneeing him, but she knew the way her body was that she’d probably fall. Did she want to risk that and then him on top of her? There had to be a way out of this, right? But her mind was drawing a blank. For once, she was completely blank on a way to save her. Every time she and her friends were in trouble, she came up with the plan. Only that was for people normal, not vampires. No, instead of a stupid plan her mind went to hoping the next ward Clint got was an easy one cause she doubted he could handle a difficult one. Stupid fucking brain she cursed to herself as she tried again to pull herself from the vampire who was leaning in.
