This wasn’t the first time Rowan dealt with the whole almost dying, but this was the first time in a world that wasn’t her own plus by something that didn’t exist back home. The big difference is it made her question what happened if she did die here. Was she dead in her own world? Was it like the whole you die in your sleep, you die in real life? Part of her thought about asking Clint whether he knew, but changed her mind, knowing it admitted to what she was still denying on how she almost died. It was the reason she’d make sure he did whatever the doctors said, feeling it was her way of admitting he was right without actually having to say it. Also wasn’t her first rodeo of playing nurse or being on the case of people who wanted to ignore. Her dad, her two best friends, and even her older sister was always her being the caretaker to a certain degree which she didn’t mind at all.
“Nothing you can do is worse than what my dad did after almost being killed….” she started before almost saying how but she didn’t almost die before letting it go, “he had a cop who he worked with sit outside the house in their car to make sure I didn’t find trouble.” Didn’t stop her from sneaking out or finding trouble; however, she knew her dad was doing it to protect her even if the whole thing was stupid. “You can do this! Think about how if you move it you can get all the pizza or beer,” she offered as a way to push him. Even though she left out the part if the doctor for some reason said no alcohol, Rowan would be making sure he had none, but she doubted that would happen.
A smirk showed up on her lips, glancing slightly back to still make sure they were good as they kept moving. Seeing they were still in the clear, Rowan kept moving him forward, keeping herself by his side as they got to the portal then went through. “Okay, you need a moment to rest before we head on to the clinic or you want to finish this then relax?” The choice was now his since they were at least out of the portal and back on their side of things.
