Thomas was one of those guys who was determined to go for a run every single day, no matter what the weather. He went in the rain. He went in the snow. He went in the fog. He went in the cold. And, no matter how unpleasant it was, he went in the heat. Although, of course, he wasn't stupid enough to go running in weather that would kill him, so on these super hot summer mornings, Thomas went out of his way to run just after dawn. Sure, it was still muggy and the air was still thick, but it wasn't as hot as it would get later in the day, and the heat of the sun wasn't so direct. It was better. Not perfect, but definitely better.
By eight, he'd finished his run, and had gone into the air conditioned grocery store to get some fruit and stuff to take home for breakfast. It wasn't until he stepped inside that he realized just how hot it was out there, and he took a sharp breath at the contrast.
After a moment, though, he shook it off and went to check out the fresh fruit, hoping he didn't smell as much as he thought he did. That was another bad side effect of jogging in the summer.
