His time in Madison Valley had been a mix of strange and wonderful. It was a life the bleach blonde vamp never even considered possible; yet already he had a real friend, and he had a connection with a Slayer that was far from adversarial. If anything Spike was happier now then he had been in...ever, if he were being honest with himself. Still the tightrope walk of being soulless but trying to be good was a challenge that even William found himself struggling with on a daily basis. The boredom was the greatest foe here and now. Aside from getting to spar with Rogue and Buffy, well the vampire was going stir crazy. No demon bars, no real chance to unleash and enjoy a spot of violence. So in an effort to spice things up, while still trying to be good, the man figured a poker night was the perfect answer.
Of course he was a tad disappointed that none here had heard of playing for kittens before. However despite that slight annoyance Spike figured playing for cash would be fine. Especially since it presented him with the chance to meet some of the locals. With a 'borrowed' folding table, some mismatched chairs, and the poker chips and cards setup all that remained was for the guests to arrive. Beer, whiskey, and blood bags were stocked in the fridge. Along with a large selection of hot wings and onion rings he had bought too. With a smirk the vamp shuffled the cards in hand, wondering just how much cash would be won, and pondering where to take the Slayer out on a date to with the winnings.
