Cassie was avoiding pretty much anything remotely close to her normal routine. She hadn't been back home since Saturday and she hadn't gone to see Hulk again after seeing him on Monday. She'd couch surfed for the most part, but she knew she'd have to go home and face the music sooner or later. Cassie just didn't want to know if her dad wasn't going to be the Bruce Banner that changed back. It was better to not know and assume the worst instead of knowing for sure. Her mom, in all her infinite super spy wisdom, wanted to change him back anyway and that put them at odds. With everyone telling her to have faith or to hope that things will get better, it just made her shut down and push people away.

Except thanks to the drinking, she Saw that Thor would eventually find her in the park. Since she was tired and she did miss her mom, despite what she'd admit, Cassie sat herself down on the swings and just waited. She wasn't in any rush to have the conversation, didn't know exactly what the conversation would entail, but she knew it was going to happen no matter how much she didn't want it to.

Finally, she saw him. She looked up at him but didn't say anything.

Cassie arched an eyebrow at him and stopped swinging, dragging her feet along the mulch to stop her momentum. She didn’t want to listen to him, but she knew she would. “Sure,” she replied with a shrug, like she didn’t care what he had to say. There were dark circles under her eyes and she still smelled faintly or booze.

“Lay it on me, oh wise one.” Cassie wasn’t about to stop being her usual sarcastic self. It was a defense mechanism as much as anything else. “I hope you’ve got something better up your sleeve than just ‘have hope’,” she added. That wouldn’t work with her.

Cassie was still skeptical, but she'd play along for now. "Oh, you mean besides the fact that my dad has been gone for a week and now that he's back, he might not even be my dad?" She was so tired of being angry, but she definitely sounded angry at the situation they were now in. Just because Bruce was physically here as the Hulk didn't mean he was the same Bruce that had been in Madison Valley for years.

"I thought gods had to be wise. Plus, you've clearly been through some shit." He'd lost an eye. She wasn't stupid. There had to be something in there.

Thor took a moment to think about what she had said, and nodded.

"I can see your concern, but, he had been the Hulk for two years when I ran into him on Sakaar, and Hulk knew nothing of the time Bruce and I had spent together. When I managed to help him turn back to Bruce, he remembered all that had gone before he turned into the Hulk." Thor spoke softly.

"I see no reason why it should be different here."

"This place sucks," she reminded him. "It hates us. It messes with us all the time and it ruins peoples' lives." It sure felt like it had ruined her's and Cassie could think of a couple other people who hadn't had a good time in Madison Valley.

"Whenever I think I'm happy, something comes along and fucks it up. So why wouldn't that be the case now?" She was being very pessimistic but her point did have some evidence to back it up. Cassie was only trying to protect herself, even if she didn't realize that was what she was doing.

"That makes one of us," she replied. After a moment, she got up from the swing and moved to sit down next to him on the side with his good eye. Cassie rested her head against his arm and signed.

"I'll talk to Mom tomorrow. And maybe...we can see about what can get Dad back. But if it isn't Dad? I'm totally having Faith kick your ass." Because she couldn't just yet and if she went along with this and it didn't work? She was going to want someone else hurting just as much as she was.

He gently slid his arm around her and just held her. He listened to her words.

"If it is not him, I will welcome the asskicking." He would, too, for he missed his friend, the one he knew here, and he ached for Cassie's loss, having just lost his father back in the world.

"I would do everything in my power to aid you, my friend. I wish no one the pain of losing their father."

	She really needed to go home. That much was very, very obvious. She wanted a hug from her mom, even if a hug from Uncle Thor was pretty good, too. "I know." Cassie sighed and closed her eyes.
