Out of all the celebrations that Neal felt most akin to it was Halloween. Sure, when he was younger it was all about getting the most loot (aka, candy) and eating most it in one sitting until he was sick. As he got older it became about the costumes. The ability to be anyone that he wanted to for that one night. Granted, he took that affinity into his work as a con artist and it had always served him well; and he had to admit that a part of him missed pretending to be someone else. He couldn't con his way around Madison Valley - the town was too small and people would catch wind all too quickly. Though no one ever suspected him of the heist he pulled off earlier in the year he wasn't sure if he could continue on that path if he wanted to make a life in the town.
And he did. There was a lot that he wanted to move forward with. He had a good job, and a nice apartment. His girlfriend (did he dare call Pansy that yet in public?) was pretty amazing even if she was a bit closed off. He had hoped that would change as time passed. The more he was around the more he could prove to her that he wasn't going to go anywhere; at least no intentionally. Even if he was ripped from this world again the people he left behind would know that he cherished them dearly. At least he hoped they would in the same way he hoped Peter, Elizabeth, and Mozzie knew that he did what he did for them (mostly).
But that was neither here nor there. At that moment he wanted to find something he could throw together for a costume. He thought about being a super hero, but there were a ton of real ones in town already. He could go as Atticus Finch, or maybe Henry Fonda's character in 12 Angry Men, but the more he kept searching for ideas the more he found he kept gravitating toward men in suits. He had to get away from that. Maybe George of the Jungle or Tarzan. If he wasn't going to wear a suit, he supposed he could go nearly naked if he had to.
