WHO: Caroline Forbes and Klaus Mikaelson
WHAT: She’s tired of avoiding.
WHEN: Monday afternoon
WHERE: Klaus’ place
WARNINGS: probably low
STATUS: Closed/Ongoing

After her conversation with Stefan the previous night, Caroline had decided she was done with avoiding Klaus. It wasn’t that she was actively doing it, but she wasn’t actively seeking him out either and so she was pretty sure it still counted for the avoidance category and that made her feel like a coward. And one thing Caroline Forbes was definitely not was a coward.

Which was how she found herself in front of the place where Klaus was staying, heading straight to the door and knocking on it. There could be no hesitation because there was just no reason for her to feel a need to hesitate knocking. They were friends, weren’t they?

“Klaus!” she called out, apparently not happy with how long it was taking him to answer. Even if she had barely finished knocking on the door before she had started calling his name.

Except he had been outside and in true Klaus spirit? Had slipped up behind her silently. He was a ass like that, though he also wasn't exactly looking to startle her. He just happened to come up behind her.

"Well, what have we here? Come to see me now Love?"

Caroline couldn't help but jump at the sound of him behind her. She had been so busy listening for signs of life in the house that she hadn't expected him to come from that direction.

She turned around, glaring at him even if there was little heat to it. "You suck. And yeah, I thought I'd see how you were doing since you're all by yourself."

"I'm never too far to come see you love."

Klaus grinned because she jumped. It amused him for some reason.

She hated when he talked like that even if some small part of her did enjoy it, maybe even craved it.

"Uh huh. I really can't see you being all happy about being stuck somewhere. Are you going to invite me in or are we chatting out here?"

"Didn't say I was happy Love. You being here however, does ease the sting."

Klaus gave her one of his more, charming grins and motioned for her to go inside.

"You my dear, have a standing invite anytime you wish."

She nearly rolled her eyes at that but held back.

"You're going to regret saying that when you come home one day and your place is completely rearranged,."

But she headed inside, still not completely sure what she was even doing there.

"So if you're not happy then what are you and what have you been up to?"

"It could use a woman's touch if it meant you'd come around often."

Klaus walked inside and shrugged, chuckling a little.

"Impatient. Also just keeping an eye on things, this strange council. Trying not to stir the pot too much as it were."

"Well, I guess we wouldn't want you to get lonely so I could come around. A few times a week maybe."

Because she didn't relish the idea of him being in the house by himself. It had to be lonely.

"I heard they want blood samples and that's just not going to happen. But there has to be something to do because I cannot just sit around idly. I'll go stir crazy." Which for Caroline meant it'd be harder to ignore her bloodlust. "So what are you doing if not stirring the pot? Painting again?"

"Wouldn't want me to get lonely at all."

Klaus was as always, flirting with her a bit. He nodded his head at her words. Definitely was not happening with him either.

"Yes, which is a crock if you ask me. As for what I am doing? Well keeping close watch on the others, and you as it turns out."

Because really, no one got to antagonize and annoy them besides him. If they were to come to harm, it was only by his hand that was allowed.

She caught onto the flirting, she usually did, and tilted her head to the side, arching a brow at him. "I'm a big girl, Klaus. I can take care of myself."

And apparently she couldn't help flirting back just a little even if she knew that she shouldn't, but wasn't that all part of the little dance they continued to do? "And you can't just go around watching everyone because 1. that's creepy, 2. that has to also end up getting to be pretty boring, and 3. you need a hobby."

Preferably one that didn't end in people dying. "There has to be something you enjoy doing to pass the time."
