Melinda had been in the theater the previous night getting things ready for the decades movie marathon. She had everything ready, so the day of the marathon she made sure that things were finalized and ready to go. She had picked movies from many many decades. Snacks were from different decades as well. She had spent the previous day baking and cooking away. So she managed to get everything into the theater and began to set them up. She then wrote all of the movies on a piece of paper and put it on the door so people knew what movies would be playing.

Once the paper was up, she decided to just stay in the theater as she dressed used her magic to change her clothes into something to fit the decade theme. A nice 80's outfit that was bright and fun. Then she opened up the door to let people in.

George wasn't first in line, but she was pretty close. She was psychoed to see all the movies. All the movies! She was making a day of it, taking a day off from boarding all over Madison. A day sitting in the dark watching movies seemed like a nice change.

She had her pockets crammed with snack of the not-crushable, non-melty type. Not that she wasn't going to eat some of the tasty snacks Melinda had made, but gorging on junk food was part of the fun. Like a road trip. She paused at the door to look over the list of movies.

"Seen it, seen it, nope, nope, seen it, seen it, nope. Not that one either." That was a good ratio. Some familiar movies, and some new ones to try.

Hannibal had a truly impressive... bag of popcorn and an even more impressive bag of M&Ms when he appeared (like mist, he will insist it was stealthy and totally mist like) beside his friend as she reviewed the list of movies.

"You've never seen Psycho?" Did she know all six foot two hundred and ninety pounds of muscle had been there before he spoke? Cause you know, he was like MIST. He grinned at her and popped some popcorn in his mouth.

No, she hadn't heard him approach, but she'd smelled the bag of hot popcorn. So she wasn't startled when he appeared beside like MIST. "Good choice," she said, taking a couple of pieces of popcorn and popping them into her mouth. "Hey, Hannibal."

"Not the movie, no," George said. She'd seen her share of violence as a grim reaper. Most of her reaps had been from accidents--but not all of them. "And not Taxi Driver, either, though I know about both of them."

"What about you? Have seen all of these?"

	"Hey George." He grinned and ate some popcorn himself. "I haven't seen the last three or Casablanca." He admitted. So really he should probably not snark about Psycho but give him a break. "Casablanca is pretty good," George said. They filed into the theater. "I saw The Maltese Falcon, too, but I don't see what all the fuss was about. That one's overrated, in my opinion."

"I've seen Toy Story, but not the other two new ones." George bought a drink before they entered the theater proper.

"Where do you like to sit?" She preferred sitting on the edge of a row, in case she needed to leave, even if just to visit the little girls' room. She hated having to edge past other people to get out.

They would see how many he made it through - certainly the first two. Because Wizard of Oz was a classic and he'd never seen Casablanca.

"The question is, do I need to see them all." He nodded about halfway back where they'd have a good view, and at one end. "Easy escape?"

It wasn't about the bathroom, it was literally about being able to get out easier. Though honestly he'd prefer being in the back row so his back wasn't exposed, he was working on getting over hat here in Madison.

"You can have one of my kidney's G, but if you touch my donuts I'll cut you." he glanced down at her grateful and a little surprised but nodded since she seemed willing.

"If you're cool with that? Should probably get over it but I live on a barge because its more easily defensible than an apartment, so I think that ship - pun not intended - has sailed." It was also why he preferred to spend the night there rather than at Bill's, but he hadn't quite worked that out for himself yet.

"I am duly warned," George replied solemnly. "No touchy da donut."

"Yeah, I'm cool with that. Back row is fine."

"You sound like my friend, Michelle," George said as they found seats at the back of the theater. "She's always thinking about 'what if.' What if someone breaks into my house? What if someone jumps me on the street. Where's the nearest sharp object, or hard edge I can bounce a head off of."

George rolled her eyes. "Sounds exhausting." Of course, she was already dead, so the worst had already happened to her.

"Can be," he admitted after a moment, settling himself into a seat and kicking out his legs to get comfortable.

"But I got a vested interest in having a pulse and not going batshit crazy so vigilance it is."

He's relaxed some since coming to Madison, he's not stalking the vampire bars every night looking for a fight. In fact he sleeps through the night more often than he doesn't, even if he goes to bed late after a shift at the club and not always alone.

"'Can be'? Definitely is," George said. She settled into her own seat and pulled a package of Starburst out of her pocket. She tore it open and unwrapped an orange one.

"But you gotta do what you gotta do, I guess. We should get nachos again sometime soon," she added, then popped the candy in her mouth.

Yeah. Nachos. She liked nachos. Hannibal liked nachos. If that led to other things, well, that's just a bonus.

"Nachos is definitely a plan, but we have to get them at the bowling alley. I might be banned from the Mexican food place for a while." No might about it, he was absolutely banned from the Mexican food place for a while. He smiled though cause that had been a good date, and popped a couple M&Ms and some popcorn in his mouth together.

"They don't appreciate you getting off in the men's room, doesn't matter how much you tip."

"Banned?" George asked with mock surprise. "You!?"

Then she laughed. "I can't keep a straight face. Of course you did. I--" she closed her mouth abruptly, face screwed up in concentration. Then, "I can't decide if it would be better or worse if you were getting off alone in the men's room. So I don't want to know. There are some things man wasn't meant to know."

The lights began to dim, and the curtain concealing the screen began opening. "Just as well, though. Guido's mystery-meat nachos bring all the boys and girls to the yard. And by yard, of course, I mean the bowling alley."

"Only creepers get off alone in public restrooms." He gave her a friendly shove and shook his head. She may not want to know but, seriously he wasn't a creeper, come on. "I was on a date."

And obviously it had gone well.

"Guido's nachos actually are pretty top notch." He'd left a decent tip at the Mexican place on the off chance they'd let him come pack for take out at least. But if not, bowling alley nachos would do he'd find tacos elsewhere.

She nodded. "Guido does great nachos. And other stuff. Really, pretty much everything he makes is tasty. I'm kinda surprised he's still working at the bowling alley. I'd think he could get a better job. But maybe he likes it there."

George liked it there too. Well enough, anyhow. A life of leisure where she didn't have to work would be ideal, but regular hours and a steady paycheck beat the hell out of reaping for a living. She settled a little more comfortably into her seat. She had a movie marathon to look forward to, trading sarcastic barbs with Hannibal for at least part of it, and then a date for nachos at not-too-distant time in the future.

Things were good.

"Wasn't sure it was a date when we started," he admitted as he ate some more popcorn thoughtfully and the first strains of Wizard of Oz could be heard. "But the time we were getting banned I had a boyfriend."

Which made it sound way easier, and less complicated than the backward ass relationship he had with Butcher but whatever.

"Maybe I'll have to try Guido's chili fries next time." He held out the M&Ms in case she wanted some and settled back to enjoy some Judy Garland.
