Christmas in Madison Valley had definitely been an experience. It was his second, of course, but the first year he'd been so overwhelmed by the strangeness of being in this place that he hadn't had enough time to really understand what was going on. He still didn't understand the metaphysical aspects of the holiday exactly, but he wasn't sure that really mattered. It seemed like a lot of people didn't really care about how religious the holiday was, and just celebrated it in their own way.
But now things were getting back to normal, and Martouf had decided to go shopping for the first time since Christmas. He needed food, and some cleaners and such, just little necessities that he hadn't bought when the stores were so crowded. As soon as he stepped inside the store, he knew it was less crowded, and he breathed a sigh of relief. He walked around the store, grabbing the sundry items that he needed.
A few minutes later, however, he came across an aisle all in pink and red and white and covered with non-anatomically correct hearts.
Of course. Another holiday.
He also remembered Valentine's Day from last year, although he hadn't been with anyone at the time. Now he kind of was, so he'd have to figure this all out. He grabbed one of the heart-shaped boxes and pulled it down, looking on the back to see what was in it. He had no idea what all of those chocolates were. He'd have to find out what Donna's favorites were without letting her know why he wanted to know.
Ah, Madison Valley. Always with another holiday.
