Our Lan rules are in the Book of Righteousness. Something that we had to copy countless times growing up, Wangji.

Not all of them are right, Xichen. I have experienced that they are not all right.

Our Book of Righteousness has errors. Our wall, has errors because not all of our Elders hold true to the rules.

But he is not the only elder that does not.

I have scars on me that they left that could have made sure I was never the same because they did not hold true to all of our rules. Had you tried harder to help me they would have done the same to you.
