Elodin peered upward at the swirling bits of fluff that rained merrily down on the world--the world as it existed in this tiny little place at least--and wondered idly at the Name of Air.
It was different from the Name of the Wind, and not the same as the Name of Ice or of Water and yet combined turned into something wholly unequaled as snow. Snow had no Name that Elodin knew and he didn't bother trying to determine it, but stood very much like a delighted child watching the swirling snow; one moment he was transfixed and then the next watching a particular wisp as it blew on by with a gust, distracting him. He saw the Name of the Wind in the Air, spelled out and soaring away, or ripped to shreds by the maddened gusts. The world seethed, and Elodin stood amid it, caught up like a statue with his black Master's robes billowing about him, his hands out to his sides as if it were he himself who'd called the name of Air.
He didn't, but he could hear its Name shouted among the storm, raging and rampant and wild. Even that couldn't make him not smile, or darken the look of utter content that crossed his features.
The cold touched him, of course, the snow had buried his bare feet and he shivered with the chill of it. The fluff settled into his dark hair, touched his face, and froze him to his very bones. But he listened with the unwavering attention of a Namer.
Air.
The rapid flurries coating him bodily settled into lazy swirls and Elodin opened his eyes, delight shining in his gaze.
Then he looked around, setting his heavy eyes on the other who'd been standing nearby. "Questions are fine."
