Jaq finally got the one thing she always wanted, which was her father comforting her. The anger boiling from within and wishing the worst of her mother was the only thing keeping Jaq from a full on breakdown in her father’s arms right here on a sidewalk. Pulling away from her dad, she wiped at her eyes, thankful for the fact that her makeup was waterproof. Didn’t stop the red that was probably around her eyes, hinting at the crying, but it was better than makeup running.
Pulling her hands away, she had to do a double take at the sight in front of her. Jaq was still sitting on a sidewalk, but her father was gone and so wasn’t the sights that had been around her. Wiping at her face again, she moved to stand up, putting her arms inside her father’s leather jacket that had been draped over her back before. The tight leather pants and boots or the low cut top were definitely not going to be keeping her warm in this temperature but at the moment that wasn’t a concern of hers. At least the jacket was doing some work on keeping her a bit warm.
Nor was the speech and whatever else the welcoming group had bored her with only for her to tune out. The cash was the only thing that had her attention at the moment. Normally, Jaq was fine without cash being handed to her; however, this wasn’t a normal type of night. Right now all she wanted was some drinks to forget about all the shit that went down, deciding to deal with whatever all this was in the morning. Pushing her dark hair out of her face, Jaq went into the first place that looked the part for what she was needing.
Wasn’t her normal type of hang out, but Jaq really didn’t care at this point in time. “I’ll have your strongest drink,” she said, slipping into a seat as she ordered.
